Did not do well in this class. She either overly explained and barely touched on the topic. Went to her office for help and she rushed me out as if she had something better to do. Goes through the content very fast! Get a tutor. You'll need the help. She also got mad when we didn't understand something. Do NOT recommend!

She is the sweetest lady and is very intelligent in math, however the way she teaches makes it extremely had to understand her class. Many of the people in my class were not familiar with geometry. She did not do a good job explaining things and went off on many tangents that were unnecessary. I studied and asked questions but had to drop.

I took Dr. Barb for two semesters, Math Concepts 1 and Concepts 2. She is very difficult. If you do the homework and come to class you will do fine. She for sure makes you work for the grade you get but in the end it is well worth it. I remember a lot from that class. She doesn't let you get by unless you know and understand things. USE OFFICE HRS.

I can tell you that Dr. Barb is very passionate about mathematics. She challenges you. I honestly believe she does want her students to succeed but it's not easy. I wish she would let students make test corrections for half credit. If you miss a day you're in trouble. If you don't take good notes you're in trouble. Book is invaluable!!!!!!!!

She is very nice and is willing to help, the only reason I survived this class was because she helped me through, but it was a very hard class and she moves quickly through the material.

If your really good at math you'll like her. But if you like me and not the greatest at math DO NOT TAKE her class. She teaches her way gives practice problem out of the book then has you do homework online all with different ways of teaching, can be very condescending, she knows what shes talking about just doesn't seem to know how to teach it.

I am a math lover, and I am currently second-guessing my interest, after taking her class. Nearly every response to a question was "no... wait yes". I prefer chalk boards - she uses white boards (im oldschool.. literally) oh and she collects homework. it's like she cares more about the grades she is giving out, rather than teaching the material.

very hard, hard to understand, gets on you for texting in class, shows you the long ways of doing things instead of making it interesting and showing the easy ways of getting a problem done. look into other professors before taking her class.

She is a hard prof & you have to earn your grade. If you don't understand she will teach you till she is blue in the face. If you want to do well, there is no reason you can't do well in her class. Go to class, take notes and go to office hrs. When she tells you what to study..LISTEN. If you want to learn, take her class. You ROCK Dr. Barb =)

i hated being talked to like a 2 year old. her class was easy because of the level of math. she thinks she knows all. told my study partner not to study w/ me because i didn't know what i was doing, my study partner went from a B to a D and i was getting A's
