Comment:

Definitely not one of the easiest teachers on the planet. She expects a lot from you, yet is not clear of her expectations. Her assignments are doable, and student critiques help, but her critiques are not so helpful. I would try to get into EN100 with another professor, if you can.

Her class is easy but annoying. You have to read a lot but a lot of people don't actually read the assignments. The tests are a bit hard but doable. Writing assignments are easy. Def. easier En 101 classes to take but hers isn't the worst either.

It's quite a relief to see a core-class professor who cares so much about her subject. She provides wonderful insight into the topic of the English language and linguistics in general, in plain language for those who don't have a lot of interest in the subject.

Professor Hess assigns alot of work and reading, some of which does not make sense. She explains things well and everything she assigns had a purpose. Grades somewhat fairly and gives numerous pop quizzes.

She was a good professor, but the work could be boring to some people, especially guys. We seemed to cover a lot on women in general. I liked it, but it really isn't for everyone. She really wanted us to do well on papers and makes them pretty easy grading wise. She's pretty easy to get along with.
