Dan is a nice guy, though he can be very intimidating. It's obvious he knows what he's talking about, he gets very passionate about history details and architecture. But his lectures are very boring. Get ready to read, and show up to class prepared, because there are often less than 10 students in the class and he will know if you're not there.

Comment:
Kind of a soft-spoken, mild-mannered guy. He seems very nice. His interests extend far beyond just music and he incorporates philosophy, history, art history and even anthropology in his lessons. His tests, although not necessarily really difficult, are very extensive and include a lot of writing. I barely finish the tests in the time allotted.

One of my favorite professors on campus and in the music department period. He enjoys the subject so he's quite demanding. His tests basically give you a chance to spit out as much information you can remember and you can always get extra credit. Stay caught up on listening journals and don't underestimate his papers. His expectations are high.

Can really be an ass sometimes, but he is still a good professor. His tests always have the opportunity for extra credit: you can write on blank pages any accurate information from the chapter that wasn't on the test and earn points. Once I earned 8, I think. Lectures are BORING.

Dan is a good mentor. Copyright was not the most interesting subject, but at times he managed to bring some enjoyment to the topic. The tests were straight out of his lectures in class, so they were not the hardest tests ever.
