he's pretty picky on the formatting on the homework and even the tiniest mistakes on an exam will get some points marked off. fortunately, he allows cheat sheets on the day of the exam and gives a practice exam before each one which is pretty helpful. apply yourself and make an effort to form a study group within the class and you should be fine

I am not good with Math but i literally do well for his homework and exams. He allows cheat sheet for exams and he put up practice exams which are similar to the exam questions. However, you must show up to every class and you are not allowed to play your phone in class. Homework is assigned basically every class.

What I hated the most about his class was when he would read off of the "textbook" It seems like he does not know exactly what he's teaching when it comes to calculus. Two other books he told us to buy was never used in class which makes me furious to think that I wasted money on books that was not once used in class. Would I take him again? NO.

I would definitely take a course with professor Wheeler again. The bottom line for him is this: Show up to class and actually pay attention and you shouldn't have trouble passing. Homework can be hit or miss, but for tests, he usually covers what every question will be and solves example questions during class.

He a sweet old man. He know his stuff. however if you don't have a strong math background good luck. His grading criteria is straightforward and attendance matter. his lecture is straight from the book. exam is way harder than his lecture. Use person-lab for h.w. allow one page of note. but this makes the exam harder. GOOD LUCK

Took this course and His grading criteria is really clear as your grade is graded off of only several big exams and your attendence. Attendence is part of your grade and I would say he doesn't assign much homework, nor is it graded. But to do well in this class it requires self teaching and asking lots of questions, He is a nice funny cute teacher.

Show that you're willing to put in the effort and it's hard to fail one of his classes. Has the occasional minor slip up with his lectures but never because of lack of understanding. Personable guy.

best calc prof.! mandatory attendance but clearly explains the work and process. allows one sheet of notes for exam so if you follow exactly what he puts as examples you'll be good. he stresses the book like crazy, never picked it up. catty about late students and poor attendance but otherwise an adorbs old man. great at answering questions.

Doc Wheeler is everything you would want in a math prof. I had him for Diff Eq's over the summer. He's approachable, clear about what he expects, and doesn't hem you up over small calculation errors, as long as your reasoning was on target. If you show up late or don't attend, he's hard on you. Its disrespectful and immature, so I don't blame him.

Dan gets confused often when showing examples of the board. I missed a day of class where he gave back test. I attended his office hours 5 different times asking him for a my test back. The last visit I had with Dan he told me that I should have shown up to class. He doesn't care if you put in the work, he's really sensitive about attendance :,(

Homework is awful on webassign. Isn't engaging in his teaching and is unclear when doing examples. Last resort teacher right here. However, his tests are pretty easy because he runs tou through what will be on them.

Took Dan in the fall 2015 & the class was very easy. He let us have an 8x11 cheat sheet for each test. He goes over all the questions that are going to be on the test. So write down all the steps & equations b/c on the test it is just different numbers. The HW can be kind of annoying though. Dan is like a sweet old grampa.

One of the most unhelpful teachers I've ever had. Also very inaccessible. Students would have to correct his work.

Wheeler goes over what will be on the test beforehand and gives you a cheat sheet, even on the final, so there's no reason to fail the tests. There is online homework only, but quite a lot of it. He's the oldest teacher I've had and makes some mistakes but he really knows his stuff. He doesn't take attendance, there were 3 tests (including final).

Business Calc with Wheeler is such an easy course. As long as you go to lecture every day and do the online hw (although they suck) you can easily get an A. He literally goes over how to do each problem on the exams so make sure you attend lectures and write every step down so you can summarize it into the notecard he lets you use on exam day.

Great professor. Doesn't drop the lowest grade however, you are allowed to have a cheat sheet one each exam. His teaching philosophy is that exams should never be harder than classworkhomework and he stands by this. His exams are easy if you attend class and ask for help.

Wheeler recently implemented a mandatory attendance for 5% grade. Either way he is very clear in what he wants, tells you what is on the tests, and is there to help. He does forget what he says sometimes, therefore homework dates were a bit messed up, other than that, EzPz.

Excellent professor, I never went to the labs and still got a good grade in his class. He explains concepts well, he is not one of those math professors that goes into heavy theortical crap, but that he is that kind of math professor that is straight to the point. Tests are easy so long as you study for what he says will be on thetests, andtheyWILL
