Litvin is a funny guy. As someone who has zero interest in psychics but is required to take PHYS250 and 251, he made it pretty okay. The exams are hard but he curves everyone up so they basically pass at least. He knows no one in the class really likes physics or wants to take it. In short, Massive curves, still somewhat difficult and makes it okay

This is literally the worst course offered at PSU. The professor cannot teach physics. Test Averages are extremely low averaging from around 30-50%. You dont know youre grade until after finals and he refuses to tell you your grade. The open ended questions are impossible to do and offers no partial credit.

I am extremely disappointed with this course. Dr. Litvin really is quite horrible at teaching. He does not post your grades online. I emailed him directly asking for him to calculate my current grade and he refused... saying it was impossible. He relies heavily on exam grades and does not offer partial credit. I'm always confused in this course.

He is a horrible teacher, he constantly makes mistakes. Dont expect to know your overall grade until the end of semester once final grades are put in. A lot of the time he wont finish the problem that he is currently showing the class how to do. He is getting lazy in his old age and it is affecting his students understanding of the course.

Dr. Litvin is a funny guy who cares about his students, but he is very vague about the material. This class was very difficult to understand for me. Lab saved my grade.

Dr. Litvin is a funny and really smart guy. The class seems easy since it's "algebra based," but this course is really difficult. The concepts themselves are not difficult. What makes the course hard is his grading on exams. Don't expect any partial credit. The class starts easy, but then it picks up and gets really hard. Study vector addition.

One of the toughest professors. Test averages are very low and unfortunately depending on your major you are stuck taking him with no other choice. Doesn't explain almost anything properly, condescending, and makes lots of mistakes on the board. When you ask a question it is never answered, just reasked in a different way.

The material itself isnt hard, but the exams are challenging. Dr Litvin is old, and i think loosing the passion for teach the same class yr after yr. He frequently makes mistakes on board and even on exams! Averages on exams around 50%, no extra credit. Many students in my class were unhappy with his teaching abilities. prepare to teach yourself

Dr. Litvin is HORRIBLE. If you'd like to receive a grade lower than a 55% on every test, then take his class! The class average is a C. He does not teach at all. I have taken Physics 1 and 2 with Dr. Litvin, worst idea of my life, but there are no other physics teachers :(

I liked Dr. Litvin. I didn't do well on the tests, I did well in lab and went to class (with the exception of a few) and I feel like I learned a lot. I think his tests were OK, its physics though...I don't know why everyone is complaining. Its College, he isn't going to babysit your grades. Put the effort in.

Dr. Litvin gives no partial credit on tests. Average test scores run from approximately 30-50%, which is horrible in my opinion. He is very picky and is not the type of professor that will allow you to make up lab reports or homework if you receive a low score. This class is only offered at 8am so f you're not good at Physics, don't take it.

Heres the rundown. Had him for physics 250 + 251. He's an old guy who is picky about how he likes things done, but show up, DO THE HOMEWORK, do well on the labs. Don't worry if you do bad on the exams, he curves the hell out of them. I got C's on all the 250 tests and pulled a B+ overall. Just due all the required work and you'll get good grades

well... lab is mandatory attendance...not class. he is TERRIBLE. if you have a question right, and did it a different way... half credit. i like challenging classes... as long as i am learning. this is not the case. his research must be great for him to be at penn state.

He was not very fair in grading. He offers almost NO partial credit on tests. If you get a question wrong, you get 0 points even though you put forth so much effort into the problem. For crying out loud, he can't even give 1 point? Also, 80% of your grade are the very difficult tests. The homework problems should factor more into our grade.

I hated this class so much. I dreaded even going to it. Was not a fan of this professor. Average on tests most of the time was a failing grade, such as a 42%! That is absolutely terrible. I understood everything in Physics in high school, then I came here and had Dr. Litvin and I didn't understand anything. I would recommend someone else.
