Dr. Leatham is one of my favorite professors at TCU, and I will be taking him for the fourth time next semester. He is very passionate about what he teaches. He is always available outside of class, and is willing to work with students to raise their grades. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Leatham was always accessible outside of class to help you understand the course material, which is needed. The course is extremely difficult and best to study in groups of which most will also be in the same position as you (confused). Confusing daily lectures which he usually trails off. Lots of reading. I studied extremely hard and made a C.

Please avoid taking this teacher at all costs. I will regret the class forever. There is no structure to the course and Leathem avoids the use of any technology, so yea that means no d2l, nothing.

One of the smartest people I have ever met and highly respected in the world of anthropology. That being said, this class is not easy. He doesn't use powerpoint (only pictures) so you are responsible for writing everything down that he says which make the tests hard. His study guides are helpful but this class isn't easy unless you love anthro

I took this class because I thought that it would be an easy A, boy I was wrong. This class was very difficult and lacked structure. The teacher is a nice guy and funny but his lectures are very confusing and my classmates and I were confused the whole semester. You HAVE to read, go to class, and study hard if you want to get an A. NOT AND EASY A!!

Cultural Anthropology wasnt a bad class overall, just the lack of structured notes made it hard. Tests aren't too difficult, as long as you have good notes. There are no power points or notes handed, it all depends on your note taking skills. He does hand out review guides a couple of days before an exam which were quite helpful.

Mr. Leatham is such a nice professor. Very helpful, will go out of his way to help you understand his lectures (which are interesting for sure). He will also make time to help you understand the reviews he hands out before tests. Really enjoyed his class. You will use your books, he does offer extra credit questions on tests.

I have enjoyed this class, and this is a professor that you can tell loves what he does. He gets excited sometimes in class and starts rambling about his experience with the material. There are no powerpoints other than to show pictures so taking notes is up to you. This was a night class so you need to come or you will miss out on information

Intro to Cultural Anthropology NOT AN EASY A. He has no structure to his class- no ppts, he just speaks & often gets off topic. The only time you have an idea of what you will be tested on is when he hands out the review (given after 90% of the material has been covered). I record his lectures and that helps. Passion doesn't cut getting a B for me

Professor Leatham, is one of the most passionate teachers I've ever taken. Simply being in his class you can tell how passionate he is about this subject. The class isn't easy. There is a lot of reading, but I worked hard and am receiving an A. Definitely the best professor offered for this course! Take him!

Dr. Leatham is very passionate about anthropology and is extremely intelligent. He's a solid prof. but his lectures lack organization and his tests are much harder than they should be. If you want an A prepare to be frustrated

I had Dr Leatham as a professor when he was at Texas A&I 1990s. Learned so much, very passionate about his work. If you sat near the front, took notes and paid attention, you could ace his class. We Javelinas taught him about not giving 1200 pgs of reading per week. I taught part of a folklore class because of cemetery paper I wrote.

Had him for both cultural anthropology and physical anthropology. I absolutely loved Dr. Leatham! He's the reason I made anthropology my minor. His tests aren't that bad. You have to go to class and read the textbook. If you do that you will get at least a B if not an A. He's the head of the department so he knows what he's doing. Great teacher!

You have to go to class and do the readings, but he's a very nice professor. The quizzes and tests are easy if you study and read the textbooks; it's just multiple choice. Definitely take it if you need GA/CA and SSC or just an interesting class and a GPA boost.

Great professor. Very dedicated and passionate at what he does. Has even done field work himself! Reinforces lecture material with photos and videos. Easy quizzes if you do the reading. Loves to help students during his office hours. Syllabus very clear and laid out. Would recommend as an intro to anthropology course.
