You must attend class as he took attendance, but he goes over an outline he posts on Blackboard so just print the outline and take notes on that to study for the quizzes/tests. I also found him very funny and he has a lot of experience from his time as a lawyer to draw, which also makes the class much more interesting.

Lykins is a very fun professor. He takes a VERY boring subject matter and makes it interesting...sort of. He has a lot of real-world experience and really knows his stuff. His exams are situational applications of the material. Very difficult, but he will help clarify questions. If you miss class, you will do very poorly.

Make sure you get a friends test from a previous term if you want to get A's - the exams can have some fairly wordy and strange questions on them. He does a good job of keeping you interested in class and is a knowledgeable professor. If you dont go to class though, studying from the textbook is the only option and it costs almost $200.

Great professor. While some people may get sensitive about shots he takes at companies, government, ect, you have to realize that this guy has a ton of real world experience from being a trial lawyer. Most professors have been in academics all there life so there biases are tougher to swallow. Plus he will help you out anytime you need it.
