very nice professor, can be funny sometimes. very hard to concentrate in his class. on exams ur notes are going to be useless, so u better start reading your book from day 1 !!!!! i droped his corse with a W, i think its the best thing i ever did. he expects u to know everything about history, like dates and names. midterm was hard!!!

very nice and very intelligent. His lectures for the entire class and gives you too much information because he knows too much. Although I liked the guy it was impossible for me to stay awake. He is easy-going and doesn't care for attendence. He gives no h.w, one paper(3-5pgs), and a final. just take notes, don't really need the reading.

Prof. Berger is literally one of the most brilliant people I have ever encountered. As you sit in his class, you cannot help but be amazed by him. He is a fair grader; if you work hard, you'll do well and if not... Berger is also very funny at times (and a huge baseball fanatic). If you're interested in the subject, he's really a great professor.

Please do yourself a favor and do not take his class!! He is a very nice professor but he does not know how to keep the class interested. As interesting as the topics can be, he makes everything so boring. I am an A student, and because of his ways I was unable to take good notes, and I ended up with a D!!!!

He's brilliant but extremely boring and as is usually the case with really smart professors he's a really tough grader because no one can compete with his wealth of knowlede, still if you come to class and take notes you can definately get a B without doing the readings- as long as you study your notes

Expect a monotone, unfortunately. However, this professor is very nice, and amazingly knowledgeable. A medium coffee a minute before the class is necessary. Before handing in any essay, make sure you do serious editing, your essay can be excellent content-wise but style and grammar will kill you. Take good notes, and study the sourcebook religously

He's cool, funny, and brilliant in his field, but instead of simply making a coursepack, he ABSURDLY assigned 13 books--costing $1,000...used! I just can't get over that. Unable to do the readings, I did terribly on both exams. His lectures are of little use. If this is what he does in every class, take him to needlessly ruin your GPA.

Not an easy A but just study for the exams and do the paper. Attendance isn't mandatory but u can still pass by reading from the text and source book. But it does help to go to class once in a while to catch the important things. He's not horrible but he speaks very softly and it can make you drift off.

This is the worst teacher I've had by far in my college life. He is Lazy, Boring as hell, and extremely bad at teaching. Doesnt write on the board at all, test very difficult, can't hear him, and very confusing. If you wanna save your self from getting an F do not take him. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Professor Berger is very smart; you will learn a lot if you take his class. It's not easy, so you must come to class, pay attention, and take good notes. I got an A and would definitely take him again. Ignore those negative posts- they are obviously written by lazy students who don't appreciate knowledge and don't study.

SO BORING! at least he doesnt take attendance and i never had to go, i went until the midterm when i realized that everything on his tests really is from the books. he will teach a WHOLE lesson and then say "oh by the way, you dont have to know that" do not recommend at all, avoid at all costs

bad prof, boring and mean, we had a final which everyone cheated on, it was an essay so I copied straight from the book and still managed to get a 58 how is that?? on an essay final so got a D+ in tha class which is supposed to be fun and easy..avoid him he is horrible.
