I love how he has a passion for African-American history-- excitement just exudes from him every time he teaches. Because of his love of the subject, I am taking another of his courses next semester. :)

Well the class was a big waste of time but prof. gavins is such a nice man. Do not really have to do reading to prepare for tests bc you know the questions beforehand. Only annoying part? Doing original research in the Rare/book and manuscript room.

(Diaspora-Emancipation). Awesome teacher, well spoken, friendly. Only complaint was initial severity of grading by TA and unwillingness of TA to help you learn rather than judge your understanding of the material.
