DO NOT TAKE HIS ONLINE COURSE. I had straight A's until I took this course over the summer. The highest grade in the class was a B+ and that was with the curve. I spent hours studying his lectures, but his tests were incredibly unfair and he was condescending when emailed. I should not have paid almost $1000 to lose sleep and my GPA for this class.

Really good chem professor. Super funny & helpful with his office hours and explaining things. He gives group quizzes almost every class, they aren't easy but you really learn from them and the tests aren't bad. Lectures are videos you watch for homework.

Teaches using "flipped classroom" style, but isn't clear on when which videos are going to be used in class. You will take group quizzes pretty much every day that are worth next to nothing for your final grade. He is ridiculously stingy with partial credit, so a few minor mistakes on an exam can be detrimental to your grade. Very condescending.

He's a really nice guy, but expects you to learn the material through reading the text and watching his videos which can be very boring. You will have a group quiz almost everyday which he doesn't allow you to use your notes on. Tests are worth 80% of your grade too, so failing one will hurt you pretty bad

You WILL take a group quiz every day, pretty much. The quizzes are on what you read before you come to class. If you dont stay on top of things, you will be lost. I did not like this class at all. Can be very condescending sometimes when you ask questions, which makes you not want to ask. This class made me change my major OUT of chem

Dave was the nicest guy, but he's also serious about the material. Coming from high school AP Chem I was really nervous about this class, but he taught it in a way that was understandable. The videos at night can be very tedious and the online homework and in-class group quizzes can seriously ruin your grade if you're not careful.

This class was very difficult. I was strong in chemistry in high school but this course took the fun out of the science. I didn't like the flipped classroom style or the group quizzes everyday in class, especially since they did not count for much overall. Geiger has extensive knowledge in chemistry but was unapproachable and sometimes condecending

Dave Geiger is by far my favorite professor here. The class is difficult, but my chemistry background wasn't that strong and I still did well, it's honestly just how hard you work for it. He really cares about his students, and instead of handing out answers he pushes you in the right direction which I love. Dave is the man.

Professor Geiger is a very smart man but this class was by far the most stressful thing to happen to me. Without a strong background in chemistry you will flounder. Group quizzes every class and little to no lectures from him. Could be somewhat passive-aggressive and condescending when asking him questions which makes you want to not ask anymore

He rarely gives lectures; expect a group quiz almost every day. Group quizzes are hard, but the actual tests are a lot easier in comparison. This class is super frustrating if you don't have a strong background in chemistry, and for most of it, you need to teach yourself the material. However, he's very helpful and approachable.

In Chem203, we were expected to take a group quiz almost everyday in class. He rarely lectures but you are expected to come to class already knowing the material for that day. He posts lesson videos but you should also read the text book. Highly recommend going to his office hours because he is very helpful.

I took this course during the 5-week summer period, with labs 2x a week and the rest was online. Geiger is a very tough grader. If my friend (who's a chem major) hadn't helped me with homework and studying, I wouldn't have passed. AKA you need to be on top of things, or you will not do well. Guaranteed.

Great Professor. Has a sense of humor. If you're taking the accelerated intro to chem class, you will receive group quizzes almost daily. In comparison to these, the tests are extremely easy, if you go through the practice tests. You definitely should be reading the text book and looking at the online powerpoints if you want an A

The class was defiantly challenging but if you go, read the text book and do the work you’ll be fine. Dr. Geiger is extremely nice and helpful. It’s obvious he loves teaching. His test can be a little challenging though so study hard.

This class was EXTREMELY difficult. Be prepared to devote the bulk of your time to the work. Make sure to read the textbook, do all the homework, and study like a fiend. That being said, the powerpoints in class are crystal clear and he does tell you what to study, so he does try and help you zone in. Ps. there is a curve in the class

Honestly, the best Chem teacher I've had and I've had 5 of them from three different schools. A genuinely nice guy that cares how you do as well. His grade is primarily made up by the tests and final. There is a curve as well which helps lessen the pain of the number 75=B this yr. Material to most was hard but its Organic Chem what a shock.

Geiger is really smart and definitely knows what he's doing; however, he often expects his students to know a lot more than they actually do. Grade is based entirely on test/quiz performance and they are usually pretty hard but it is organic chem so it's always hard. Coming out of his class, you will definitely know what you're doing.

Geiger is really nice, but the class is an honors class and therefore one of the most difficult I have taken. If you want to do well or understand at all, you have to do an EXTREME amount of outside work. He is willing to help, but the midterm and final were extremely hard because it you must know how to solve every type of problem.

Great teacher. The course is very interesting. This is an Honors class though, so it is no easy A. There is a lot of learning done on your own from the text book, but it is reinforced in class. He is a stickler for the small things. Overall: my favorite class BY FAR!!! I really understand chemistry now.
