He is a nice professor in person, but he is all over the place. His powerpoints were just a bunch of pictures but you had to know everything in precise detail for the exams. He took forever to respond to emails and any question I asked was not answered after a long-winded response.

I'll be as nice as possible... He is absolutely terrible. States you only need to understand the concepts, but you need to know EVERY detail. Skip class and read the book obsessively. He won't wear a mic in a large lecture hall, so you can't even hear him. Study for 40 hours per week and you MIGHT get a B. You never know whats on exam. Good luck.

You could start studying for one of Goldstein's exams from the second you come out of the womb and still fail. That's how ridiculous his exams are. He doesn't teach you what he will test you on. He introduces the basic concept and then you have to teach yourself the specifics that will definitely be on the exam. Good luck.

Very bad. I had a 4.0 and got a D in the class. Not trying to scare anyone, but the tests are not on the material covered. It was so bad i felt I couldn't pursue a career in medicine because of how badly I did in this class. I'm not making up excuses, but don't take this class. It will change your life....

Dr. Goldstein has been by far the WORST professor I have had at wright state. I ended his course with an A & I have nothing good to say about him. He was unprofessional & rude in emails, contradictory about material, & could never answer a simple question. Not to mention his exams were unfair & just irrelevant to the information. Horrible class!

I loved his lectures, but his exams always caught me off-guard. You really have to know the material inside & out & understand it, not just memorize it. He always took time to respectfully answer student questions, even the stupid ones. If you introduce yourself & ask for help, he's very understanding & will check on you. Very personable.

This is one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. Everyday in lecture you have clicker questions, which are not the easiest. The laboratories, homework and quizzes are pretty easy. The exams are something else. The exam grades average around 50%.

Seems like a good guy & he knows his stuff but the lectures are a nightmare. He is all over the place & makes it very confusing. I studied for a week for a test by reading the book, going over notespowerpoints and still failed. He has alot of info in the slides. Come to class everyday, I missed like 2 days & it was horrible trying to catch up.

I'm a senior in Engineering with a 3.7 GPA who is taking this class as an elective. Although the class is not terribly difficult for me, he is teaching it far above what a freshman-level class should be. He means well but I can guarantee you that he is frightening away many freshman from a career in biology with the way he handles the class.

I've never had a teacherprofessor so confusing in my life. His lectures are pointless (besides clicker question points) but even those are trick questions, I am throughly convinced that he does not want anyone to pass his class unless they are as good as him. He seems to know his stuff but does a terrible job at teaching the subjects.

His tests are impossible. I know that sounds pessimistic, but they're absolutely HORRIBLE. I have nightmares about them. Even if you read the book, takes notes in class and go over his power-points, you'll probably fail (unless you're a whizz at test-taking). They are 70% trick questions and he makes them as hard as possible.

He certainly is not an easy A. Expect to study and get prepared to not only memorize, but think critically about the subject matter. Study the powerpoints and anything on a PowerPoint is fair game. Yet he has a heart of Gold. He curves about 7% (even though he doesn't need to). He wants his students to succeed, which means making you earn the grade

Dr. Goldstein was so friendly and adorable. He made the topics interesting as best as he could. However, his exams were very hard and no one ever had a clear idea of what would be on the test and what to prepare for. So you have to STUDY every little thing in order to be prepared for the test. No cramming. I would start to study weeks before exam.

DO NOT take biology with him. The worst professor ever. His tests are so difficult and his lectures are useless. He never covers what is on the test. You pretty much teach yourself in this class. If you have to take it, I apoligize now because no other teacher teaches this course. It's terrible.

Exams cover material and critical thinking that would be expected in a fourth year BIO student. Very tough class. Exams are ridiculous, labs are a joke. All in all, save yourself the trouble and take with another professor.

Dr. Goldstein is definitely a difficult teacher. His class is extremely hard and his test are VERY impractical. I studied, got a tutor, talked to him outside of class, and I'm still failing. Besides his teaching methods, he is actually a great guy. I enjoy talking to him and he does have a sense of humor. However, DONT TAKE HIS CLASS.

1) If you aren't a Biology major, don't even put this class on your radar. I made that mistake. 2) Even if you are one, that doesn't mean anything special, just look forward to long nights and crushed dreams. 3) Unless studying is your pasttime or you're Mr. Goldstein yourself, there is no possible way to get a decent A. To sum up my experience= :(

I got my first B since 5th grade in this class :( He curves but even that doesn't help. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE NOT A SCIENCE MAJOR. I'm an English major and I thought this would be a fun, interesting science credit - boy was I wrong!!
