Just don't his classes and save yourself the trouble. Very egotistical and not communicative as he needs to be in order to be an effective professor.

I was intimidated to take a class with this professor based on all of the reviews but this professor couldnt make it easier for you. You have to try and you will come out okay, if you try a little harder youll do great. The expectations are lower in this class than when you were in preschool.

I thought this professor was awesome Until I got a D on my transcript for the class. I wrote several emails inquiring why I received such a low grade, he responded to two with incomplete responses and then he stopped writing back. Now I'm stuck with a D when I'm an A B student. Says attendance is 70% of grade, I missed 1 of 30 classes and got a D

I took this class in the summer so it probably made it much harder. The classes and lectures are fine. I read the book but he doesn't do a lot of actual teaching. His tests are beyond ridiculous. The questions are tricky and difficult. I felt like I learned nothing in this class. Your grade is made of just 3 tests and I am lucky there was a curve.

He's a nice enough guy and some of his analogies are interesting however, his tests are ridiculously hard and the lectures do not prepare you sufficiently. He isn't very helpful and your grade is comprised of 3 exams with approx 38 questions a piece. So dont drop the ball on 1 else you're screwed! Be prepared to teach yourself & cross your fingers.

Larsen acted as if we should know a lot more about finance than any of the students going into the class actually did. After saying something a few times he would start to get aggravated at having to review concepts (after giving a cursory intro to a principle). If you approached him for help he always seemed to have a condescending attitude.

I was expecting a lot worse. Lectures could get boring, but overall he was ok. Unlike the previous reviewer, I thought the 4 exams were fine. In fact, the exams looked like they came from the publisher of the book. As long as you read the book and understood it, you'd be in good shape. He also would curve a bit as well. Seemed like a nice guy.

He knows a lot about finance, but sometimes I don't think that he knows how little we know. His lectures are alright, and he has a sense of humor. His tests are crazy hard. On a test with 20 questions, I essentially guessed on 8.

He makes Wright State's Business School seem useless. I am amazed he still teaches, excellent example of how teachers take advantage of the 10yr review exemption.. He obviously doesn't care about anyone else but himself. Has zero guidance and takes favorites. Good Job Wright State by letting his horrible teaching downgrade an entire university.

Absolutely horrible professor, said he was going to grade one way and I am still trying to figure out what he used. Some writing assignments were totally unrelated to a 400 level finance class and he just springs an exam on you that he in no way prepares you for. Unless you plan on praising him to boost his ego for a good grade avoid at all costs.

Very hard to stay awake for. Assgns cases with very little guidance. He think he prepares you for the case but unless you have a masters in finance, you'll be spending countless hours each week trying to pull off a 15 out of 20.

Too caught up in himself to teach you anything but will easily give you a bad grade for not knowing everything. I wouldn't recommend him for any class unless you like to suck up and treat him like a king.

Avoid this guy and take Carol (Qi) Wang. Tests are hard and laced with trick questions. Doesn't help outside of class or really answer your questions during class. Displays general laziness and shows up late. He makes tons of mistikes in class teaching yet demands perfection on the test to get an A. Worst instructor in WSU MBA program (IMHO).

Nice guy but not a very good instructor and does not prepare you for the hw. At least 1/3 to half of the problems on just about each hw were problems I had NO IDEA how to do... and I showed up for each class! Study the book. Some HW assignments due on test days w/no time to go over them! But projects helped boost my grade.

Pay attention in class, do the homework, ask questions. The tests are difficult so study and practice the problems. The group projects aren't that bad if you divide up the work.

He's mellowed a lot since Spring Quarter, and now allows you to have the crypt sheet from the text on the exams -- which helps a lot. Still, finance is not my forte, and I never had enough time to complete all the homeworks -- which are due weekly, or do as well as I wanted on exams. I'm awaiting my grade on pins and needles.
