Comment:
Mr Goodlett is very entertaining and passionate in what he teaches. Very few homework assignments. His test questions are pulled directly from the study guide so just complete the study guide and the test becomes an easy A. I didn't read a single page from the book and ended the class with an A. Only down side is he always lectures 2-4 minutes over

He's super nice & funny. Gets off topic regularly, it's usually interesting, just a waste of time. Spends the first 10 minutes of class trying to talk about non relevant world events. He never let us out on time. Tests are very specific. Definitely have to read the book. Not very computer friendly. Pay attention in class. Don't skip.

Fill out and study the study guides he provides. Read or skim the text in the book. Tests are medium difficulty.

I didn't use the book as much as I should've. There's a lot of reading assignments and quite a few test questions come from the reading, so READ! You write 5 papers over the course of the semester. The tests are worth 30 points each. There aren't many points in this class all together, so once you start doing poorly, you're kind of stuck.

This class is SUPER lecture heavy. He stands at the front of the class and talks the entire time without a PowerPoint. He is really nice and extremely intelligent, so that made the class more enjoyable. Have to study for tests or you will fail, but it's possible to get an A.

Dr. Goodlet is a nice guy but that's about it. He lectures for the entire class period every class period and does not even have any powerpoints. It is just him standing there talking and he often gets off topic and doesn't provide the class with information useful to the tests - which are HARD. I was an A student my whole life until this class.

One of the best professors I have ever had. Gives great insight on subjects, and makes the student think about reasoning behind issues. I highly recommend this professor.

He lowers the level for an A to 88 before the final. One of the best professors I have had and it was even on a subject I don't like that much

I am a History major so usually not bored by History but this class is SO BORING. Goodlett is overly intelligent but I learn more from reading than I do from lecture.

Very smart guy, must pay attention in class. Tests are taken directly from study guide. Not very helpful though. He has a problem with replying to e-mails. His helper, or whatever she was, Mrs.Como was really annoying. Not even a clue as to why she was even there.

He is really smart and knows what he's talking about but gets distracted easily and is really scatter brained!! He's nice and the tests are somewhat easy, but you have to know your stuff. If you're interested in history go ahead and take this, but if not I don't recommend taking it under him.

If you have any interest in history, then he's a pretty good teacher. If you hate history, don't take him. He lectures the whole class, but the information in the lectures is usually interesting.

scatterbrain, he forgets a lot of stuff, but overall i though he was a great teacher, once he got on a tangent it takes a while to get back on track and he repeats a lot of things but he cares for his students

A lot of people complain about how hard Dr. Goodletts classes are. The secret to success is to do the reading. He gives you study guides for the tests for pete's sake! On the essay questions, (which you have all the possible ones beforehand) you can make any argument you want as long as you support it with evidence.

Very intelligent man. If only he could teach. He knows so much but cannot convey it to the average person. It may have not helped that he put me to sleep everyday. I did learn enough to pass his quizzes.

Operating on the level of Historical genius, Dr. Goodlett at times has difficulty simplifying, for those less advanced, his depth of understanding of historical concepts. However, in doing so, it encourages us as students to draw our own conclusions and develop our own historical brilliance. In addition, he cares deeply about his students.

Very informative class. I learned quite a bit. He seemed quite personable too. He would stray from the material often on sidenotes which made for some very interesting stories sometimes. Overall I think he's a pretty good teacher.
