While he's a very nice person, Medieval with Dr. Jones really doesn't teach anything. The lectures are entertaining but for both the tests and the essays, relevant information was self taught, and the lectures themselves had no structure. The whole year felt disorganized.

Comment:
Do not take Medieval History with Dr. Jones if you want to learn at all. Lectures are completely useless, tests are from the book, and exams are take-home. Should have been and easy mark but it is hard to write exams with no information whatsoever from class. Would never recommend Dr. Jones as a prof to anyone. He will ruin your interest in history

Tests are on textbook, not lectures, which are completely different timelines. Lectures are entertaining but don't follow any chronological order and usually revert back to the same point. Most of the year was spent talking about the fall of Rome (the beginning of the Middle Ages). Exams are take home essays. Don't take him if you want to LEARN.

Spent the first 4 classes of Medieval History talking about the origins of the term Middle Ages, how we view them and brief hints of key events, out of order and without dates. Textbook written in 1987, not edited since, riddled with grammatical errors and too wordy. I may have to go to the chair about this: I'll keep you all posted.
