Comment:

Best professor I've had on campus. The classes are difficult, but well worth it and you learn so much. He has a real passion for learning, makes class fun and is always enthusiastic, and will spend lots of time with you outside of class to make sure you understand everything. Would recommend anyone to take a class with him.

At first I was not sure how to perceive Dave, I thought his lectures weren't cohesive and were hard to follow. Then I realized his lectures were fluid and he teaches with an outline, but is willing to go in whatever directions is best for his students to learn the material. He generally won't answer your questions without asking you a question

Dave is a tough professor. He uses the flipped classroom style of teaching. It's hard to get used to. You have to teach yourself a lot of the concepts. He was not very helpful during office hours. I ended up getting a tutor to help me g et through the class.

Nice guy, Absolutely Ridiculous class. SURVEY of Mathematics is supposed to be an easier class for non math majors and Dave turned it into the hardest class I had for the last semester of my sophomore year. the Workload was ridiculously large,and the material was even confusing for the TA. Don't take his survey classes, there's really no need to.

I took his math for teachers I and II course, if you want to get something out of math, don't want to feel frustrated/disrespected don't take this class. Every class I felt dumb and stepped on. As a person he is respectable, as a professor I barely respect his teaching methods. He laughs at your struggles/anger, no joke.

This is by far the most frustrating course I have taken at St. Mary's. Dave is on quite a power trip. I definitely do not recommend taking a course with him unless you want to be made to feel stupid on a daily basis. I took very little away from this course

Excellent Professor and an amazing guy. His class is fun. He avoids the traditional lecture style, which has both upsides and downsides. Relatively easy tests. Not too much work outside of class aside from studying.

Amazing teacher, amazing guy. I am so glad I took this class and got to know him. I hated Calc with a passion in high school but LOVED this class.. he actually made math interesting. Who knew... PS Why the heck hasn't he gotten a chili pepper yet?!
