Dr. Lawrence is a genius, but can be kind of boring if you don't like politics. If you do, you'll find what he has to say interesting. Class was based on midterm/ final only. Readings not necessary but recommended because he essentially repeats them in class. Recommended if you like politics.

He's boring and speaks in this awful "iambic pentameter" not conducive to taking notes, which your entire grade is based on...his weekly hours of ramblings. You can get a B but you have got to work for it.

Really hard and stressful...Lawrence is a really nice guy who tries to help but doesn't give the clearest explanations. No doubt knows his stuff but he throws so much at you, and are expected to give in depth explanations about two topics he picks on the exams. You basically study hard for 3 weeks only to find that the exam was based on one class.

Really nice guy... It's easy to skip every class (since he says he doesnt care if your there or not) midterm final and a paper for Voting Elections and Behavior. Plus if you do bad on the midterm and better on the final he drops the midterm

I won't lie this guy can be hugely boring. But he's insanely smart, incredibly unbiased, and will answer ur problems after class. He'll talk at you and not to you but if you actually like politics then you can push past that and be somewhat awake. Perfect professor hair.

David Lawrence assigns a lot of reading for his intro to politics class, but you don't need to read any of it because he covers 90% of it in his lectures. His lectures are just that clear, concise, and full. His digressions, though, are lengthy (and lmost always responses to student questions).

Notes are a must and even though attendence isn't mandatory, you will have not idea what is going on if you don't show up and you NEED notes. The intro class was heavily based on political theory, and I found it extreemly boring. Just a midterm and a final which are off the charts on how hard they are. I would pass on this prof.

Definitely the quintessential political science professor; extremely intelligent yet always looking for students' imput. He certainly isn't easy, but not taking one of his classes means you miss out, especially if you're a poli sci major. You'll definitely come out of the class having learned something valuable, which is what college is all about.

Great course. Extremely interesting, introduces a lot of theory, but backs it up with empirical evidence. Lawrence is by far one of the best professors that I have ever had. He is brilliant, a good lecturer, and always clarifies the theories introduced. He is a tough grader, but getting an A is possible.

damn, was this class tough. I worked my ass off only to get a mediocre grade. If you have this professor, i reccomend memorizing as much as you can and spitting it back out, because his tests are VERY gerneral in scope. Has the perfect hair for a professor.
