The prof doesn't take attendance. Note taking is useful when watching a vid cuz its going to be on the final. The text is helpful for quizzes which are really important to your grade. If the whole class does poorly he'll add a couple points to it. The labs are important and are an easy grade if u go. There's no midterm. Easy final if u study.

Great professor! does not teach by textbook at all but class was so interesting, I learned so much. He doesnt make it easy to take notes, but he puts almost everything on eRes. Reading txtbk is a must since weekly quizzes are almost impossible but drops 2 lowest, 2 two pg easy papers, he prepares you very well for the final.Great professor!

Dr Malcolm is very informative and well versed. The quizzes can be difficult so please take copious notes and pay attention. If you are looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you, but you will learn alot if you pay attention.

Dont take this class. 90% of my free time I spend learning the text book and its too much of information to be able to memorize in one week. The quizzes are horrible, they are so complicated that you sometimes do not know weather or not it was in the book at all. Ruins the GPA completely!

Good times. I'd recommend it because Malcolm is a silly yet very intelligent character. He's kind of off-putting, but likeable in a weird way. All the anxiety you feel about the often impossible quizzes will be abated either when he drops the two lowest ones or when you take the really easy final that cancels them out. Enjoy the silly videos, too.

He gives a 10 question multiple choice quiz every week on every chapter, so you can't get by without reading. He does drop 2 or more of the lowest scores though. There is no midterm and he more than prepares you for the final. He likes to ramble, but sometimes it's interesting!

You will rely on your textbook a lot for Intro to Psych. Mainly a lecture class, sometimes throws in a movie clip or powerpoint. Not too hard to get a good grade. Labs are easy. There is a lot of work but it's all easy enough to do. Quizzes are ten questions each, 13 quizzes per semester and he drops the lowest two. No midterm. You can't go wrong.

This was by far my favorite class at Fordham. There are plenty of chances to get a good grade in this class. The textook readings require 2 hours a week of your time.. and there's a quiz after every chapter.. but he drops the 2 lowest grades! And, to comment on a prior rating, he does remind one of Dr. House!!

malcolm was actually pretty funny...i found the class interesting and its not hard to do well if you put an average amount of effort in. he tells you exactly what is on the final and offers a day to replay all the videos you may have missed. decent professor, i'd take him again.

I love Dr. Malcolm! He reminds me of Dr. House. He's not that bad, I thought he was hysterical. If you're stupid, obviously you're going to fail. The final is kind of evil, being 35% of the grade, and the quizzes were kinda tough...but if you read the textbook you'll be fine.

Malcolm is such a knowlegible professor. He gets horrible ratings from slackers. The reason why people say he does not teach is because you basically have to read the textbook. So, what is the point of him repeating what the book says? He discusses experiments and recent studies relevant to the chapters. I would definitely take him again!

prof. malcolm does not care if you show up to class or not, but you watch movies and go over research that has been conducted, all of which is going to be on the final. there is a quiz every week and everyone here said they were impossible but if you actually read the chapter they're really not. he's not as bad as people say on here.

what a crappy professor. the quizzes are impossible, as the chapters are anywhere from 40-80 pages and the 10 questions pertain to random phrases. i give him credit for knowing what he's talking about, but he does not convey it well at all. my notes are completely disjointed and will probably be no help on the exam.

dude, I cant count how many times i slept in this class...and i sit in the front! again, be prepared to teach yourself psych. the labs are easy, the research participation is cool, the quizzes are ones not to reckon with (so read the chapters!) the lecture: boring but interesting at the same time i dont know why. it shows up on the final.

What a waste of time. Not a "gimme" class at all for some reason. Drones on and on and on, while you learn very little. If you have to take into to psych, find someone else, this guy is no good. If you need to fill your sci requirement, find a different class besides intro.
