He is awesome. He is super knowledgeable as his other job is teaching med students at UVA. He will go out of his way to provide you with all the materials you need, but you MUST put effort into using them. This class is difficult no matter who you take, you might as well take it with him as he wants to see you succeed.

Dr. Moyer is an amazing professor! He makes the material understandable and will do whatever he can to help you understand the concepts. Don't get me wrong, this IS NOT an easy class. You have to work hard but you will succeed if you do the work.

Comment:

After taking graduate level classes at UVA and graduated with a BS from University of Alabama, Moyer is the best teacher I have had, ever. It definitely isn't an easy class.. but the subject isn't easy to start with. The teaching style is different, but it helped me get better with time management and understanding material and actually learn!

At first, he seems alright. He doesn't give you a textbook to read, lecture notes that he created for you to follow. Everything he said has sarcasm. I think he is completely narassic. Only people that understand his lecture is you devote your life to hearing him talk in past videos and lectures. He talks to you like your a MED student.

Dr. Moyer is simply the best! i have attended three college and this man is not only smart, he's funny, passionate, and makes the hardest concepts easy to understand. He is truly brillant and a gifted professor!! I wish every professor was as good as he is!

Really great professor! Very enthusiastic about the material. I really enjoyed the way that he has his class set up with all of the material (lectures, notes, learning objectives) online there for you to learn. Come to class prepared ad you will enjoy it as much as I did! Will absolutely be taking him for BIO 142 as well!

I wasn't prepared when I took this class as a first year but he is very clear and helpful and is always willing to go out of his way to explain things, take him but know this class is HARD and you have to work hard to get a good grade or even pass.

Dr. Moyer is the best professor I have ever had! He's very excited about the subject. Lectures are optional but extremely informative. Posts all lectures online. No book required. Instead his tests are based on very concise but comprehensive lecture notes posted on blackboard. His philosophy is to let students learn the way they learn best.

One of the best professors I have EVER had. Very difficult material. He has begun using a team based curriculum, meaning there is no lecture during class but application exercised based on the lecture you listened to outside of class and on you own time. VERY TIME CONSUMING, but you know the information when you're done!

I took Bio 141 in the spring and Bio 142 in the summer. He is one of the best professors I've ever had. I got an A in both classes because I really put in the extra effort. Watch the recordings and study the lecture notes and you'll do fine. I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I'll miss his class!
