Comment:

Really great class and professor. Not a hard class as long as you show up. The tests are nice because it very clearly relates to the homework, readings and lectures. Lots of essays, four or five I believe, but only one has to be long, (6 or 7 pages single spaced). Overall I would take any class available with Professor Gunnoe.

Comment:

This class inspired me to add psychology to my major. Lectures are amazing and tests are very reasonable. Would highly recommend. You do need to attend every class because there are quizzes at the beginning on the lecture from the previous class. If you pass enough of them you get extra credit, but it will hurt your grade if you skip them.

Her lectures were very memorable which made studying for the test easy. She knows how to use psychology to our advantage too, by providing us with the best study tips and ways to succeed. She is very knowledgeable, but can be a tough grader on the papers. Tests are fair, just skim the text and look at the pictures.

She is amazing, 10/10 would recommend taking any class with her. You have to read a lot or you won't pass the tests but besides that she doesn't give much homework.

Gunnoe's lectures are always funny and interesting! Since her lectures are more memorable it makes studying for the tests easier. About 45% of her tests are from the reading outside of class (she states that very clearly at the beginning of the course), and her daily quizzes are 3 questions and pretty simple. She is very approachable and caring.

Highly recommend Gunnoe for Intro to Psych. She is a great prof who's lectures are very interesting. You have to attend class because she gives daily quizzes--but they are easy (based off of the previous lecture) and six of them are for extra credit. I only ever had to skim the textbook because most of the questions come from lecture or the pics

Prof Gunnoe's class was pretty easy and interesting. She gives small quizzes each day, which is helpful with learning the material. She gives worksheets with the notes on them and leaves blanks, study the blanks and you'll be good. Tests covered notes and important concepts in book. She grades pretty tough on the essays, though.

She is a great prof. If you are on top of everything you will get an A. Had her this spring and i regret not being on top of my assignments. P.s. you will be required to go to a head start atlas 7 times

LOVED her and her class. She is genuine and authentic. She wants you to do well and is very honest about what the test will cover. If you prepare well and read over the textbook, you will get an A. Her lectures are incredible, and she goes out of her way to help you. Meet with her about your papers and she will review them with you beforehand.

Gunnoe was not my favorite teacher at Calvin, but having said that she is a really nice person. Tests are difficult with a lot of short answeressay and she was very specific details. Papers were long and equally "nitpicky."

Comment:

Easily a very likeable prof. She talks pretty quickly sometimes, but clearly. She also gives a lot of examples (especially from her personal experiences) that really help you understand a concept. Quite a bit of videos--a lot are pretty old, but they help quite a bit. Reading is important and make sure you pay attention to the stuff in the margin.

She's a great prof who is clear in her lectures and extremely helpful. Her tests are all based off the lectures AND the book! Tests are not easy but they are doable and you can get an A if you take time to study EVERYTHING! Gives extra credit papers and quizzes before each class which is helpful but you gotta work for that A!

It's a really good class. Tests are extremely thorough, you need to know your stuff. Gunnoe is very good at explaining things, she's very clear. She's also extremely helpful and you really can't complain about her. Take her class if you're interested in psych - I learned a lot.

Great professor! Her tests are pretty hard, but she's very well-organized and explains everything very clearly. If you don't understand she's always willing to go back over it, or to talk outside of class. She gives a lot of examples/real-life application that make the class fun and interesting.
