He is an overall good teacher and he really helped me but his tests are rough. I had adults out of college help me and they struggled with the tests also. It really seems more like he's teaching a masters class. Their are 4 papers due in the semester and I highly suggest picking a topic that you know a lot about and can go into depth about.

I heard a lot of complaining from students. Almost every one that complained, was more worried about that weekend. Yes, you have to read the material. If you read each chapter a couple times if need be, you'll be fine. This is HISTORY, you have to be able understand. If you cant grasp the major points of a chapter, that's on you. I liked him.

I took this class to learn about history. Not to have to read the book myself I can do that without paying for a class. Not only do we not go over whats on the tests. You have to read many LONG chapters, which are free game on the test. So you don't know what to study at all. Don't go over anything in class. So good luck. I would NOT take him.

Had Seiler for a United States History II. He was a great teacher with a lecture/discussion style. He encouraged class discussion and was open to hearing student opinions on modern day and historical events. He makes the students his focus and is very good at explaining assignment expectations. HIS156 with Seiler was my favorite course due to him.

This is a good on-line class. There are quizzes at the end of each chapter and four papers, but he lets you pick one topic that you're interested in to use for each of the papers. The papers are usually 2-4 pages. The tests aren't too hard either. You do need to read the chapters to prepare for the tests.

Seiler's awesome. Lectures are informative and interesting, however, this is coming from someone who thoroughly enjoys the subject of history. One thing to be aware of is that there are a total of four papers due throughout the semester.

This professor was by far the easiest class I have ever taken. Every single quiztest question is online. The only work you have to do are papers which are pretty simple. Easiest A possible.

I took this class with David Seiler and throughly enjoyed it. He is an interesting professor. His lectures are long but always engaging. Tests can be difficult but all you have to do is go to class and pay attention to pass.

I loved having Mr Seiler as my teacher. He was very clear on paper guidelines. Although he assigns a lot of papers they aren't difficult to write. I got an A in this class and enjoyed my time there. Mr Seiler is kind and funny and presents interning points of view on the subject matter.

Test are ridiculous for an elective class. Once you take the first test you'll want to quit because they don't make any sense. This class is horrible and is torture! You have to guess what to study for the tests, notes won't help you. A lot of people drop it and you prob. will too. YA! it's hell! Don't take!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!

I took this class and at the beginning I was very happy with him. Then the first test hit and I was done. His notes have nothing to do with the test and he jumps around more than a grasshopper. He is incredibly scatterbrained and I'm not sure he knows what he is talking about. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Every time I had a question,he was very quick to respond and extremely helpful. Responses were always within an hour, I even had to call once and went straight to him, he took time to help and was very pleasant. Class was very organized in online structure.

DO NOT TAKE! RUN! For a elective class it's extremely difficult. His tests r a JOKE and hard. Over half the class has dropped b4 midterm. He expects u to memorize long chapters in the book, that have nothing to do with his lectures or notes. And he can't even remember what todo in class. He is so scatterbrained and just drags on about nothing.

Awful! You have 30+ page chapters that you have to memorize. There are up to 5 chapters per unit test. You pick one topic and write 5 papers. You are pretty much on your own for the whole class. If you ask questions he doesn't really answer them. His notes are all over the place. Nothing is in order. Very unorganized. DONT take this class!!

This class is for students who WANT to learn, WILL PUT FORTH EFFORT, and that's all you need to do well in this class. The papers are over same topic aside from a book review I've used his office hours extensively and Seiler takes an interest in his students, especially if they want to learn about other topics not in the course

He is a horrible teacher. He expects you to memorize these 30+page chapters. You ask for help and he pretty much says you're on your own. His "notes" are a joke and cut off mid sentence. I would not recommend him to anyone. All you do are read the chapters and then write papers about 1 topic over the whole semester. This class sucks!!!

So far 2/3 through the semester, a couple of papers and lots of reading. Overall, a fun class because he'll post videos that clarify things. Also if something is unclear, he clears it up.

His class requires a LOT of reading. The chapters will cover, at times, 15+ specific people/topics. The quizzes are only worth five points, and the tests are over three LONG chapters at once. His notes are all over the pace. With this class being inconsequential to most majors, I would say AVOID TAKING IT! It's not worth your time or energy.

I'm taking his online class right now, and it's not exactly enjoyable. The assignments are long and boring. You put in a LOT of work for this class, then the quizzes are worth five points. His notes are difficult to understand. He doesn't seem to have his "teaching act" together. He basically throws a bunch of info at you and says "there."

Seiler is a good teacher. He can be a little scatterbrained sometimes; his notes go all over the place. As people have said, his notes have very little to do with his tests as most of his test questions come out of the book. He tries to make history as fun as possible. Overall he's a very good teacher. Would I take another class with him? Yes.
