Anyone who rated Dr. Soren badly on this site probably received a poor final grade. All of the quizzes are self explanatory and easy if you pay attention in class. Dr. Soren was one of the best teachers I've had in college and I look forward to taking another class with him!

Soren is one of the few teachers now a days that really cares about the topic he is teaching. He is funny and generally caring for his students. The quizzes are easy, because the preceptors write up review powerpoints and the tests are cake, cause Soren goes over everything the class before the tests. Awesome teacher!!!

Dr. Soren is hilarious and makes lectures interesting. For everyone saying that the quizzes were hard, probably did not review the powerpoints or skipped class. He tells countless cheesy jokes, but he really knows what he's talking about.

Dr. Soren is amazing! He is one of the best professors I have ever had. Everything he talks about is very personal because he has lived through it all. He is very personable and very easy to talk to if you have questions. The class, on the other hand, is a little indifferent. You are graded on a total of 5 things and they are either tests or papers

possibly the worst class I have ever taken. the only things in the grade are quizzes, a midterm, and a final. the quizzes are open ended questions that you must provide 3 facts and dates about the question he asks which are usually over 3 very poorly written chapters in a textbook written by him. doesnt even define what a good fact is AT ALL

The worst class I have had. For passing a quiz, you must memorize 5 facts(including date) about each person he mentions in class. The quizzes are only short answers (and close note). For the midterm, you got an essay as a part of your midterm. You cannot see your note during writing this essay. The topics are something he briefly mentions in class.

The lecture design was made by a third grader. There was no structure to his lesson plans. His TAs never graded consistently. He gives you a list for 40 terms to memorize for a quiz and tests you on 2! He spent a month on the Mona Lisa and DID NOT include her on the exam or quizzes. His TAs did not feel the need to use a microphone in a 900.

Dr. Soren is a gem. He is the sweetest person and definitely one of my favorite professors. He makes the class interesting by watching films and his exams are easy as long as you attend his lectures and pay attention. His TA's do skits that are so horrendous that they are hilarious and it just makes the class that much better.

Dr. Soren is one of those professors who truly does give his students the tools they need to succeed in his course. He knows lectures can be dense, so he always has his TA's break it up with cheesy humor or magic tricks. He's also very flexible with final grades, and even though I had an 87%, he rounded it up to an A because he saw improvement!

Dr. Soren is a great lecturer and keeps the class interested by telling jokes and doing comical things. The quizzes and tests are not bad but memorization of dates is key. No homework, just a final essay. Some of the material gets dull at times but overall its a great and easy course to take.

Dr Soren is one of the best professors at UA, hands down. He is an engaging lecturer and makes the material easy to understand. Grade based on a midterm, a final, and three quizzes. Show up every day and get extra credit at the end of the semester. During the lecture on dance, he demonstrated the steps. At 70 years old. Surprisingly good dancer!

He is a great guy! Funny & just a cute man who is super passionate and famous. However, his class is not the best gen ed. You're only graded on two tests and three quizzes. For quizzes, you learn 40 terms to be tested on 2. If you aren't passionate about art cinema history, don't take! Too stressful & not meant for people exploring the topic.

Professor Soren is so funny and keeps class entertaining. The quizzes are easy as long as you take some time to study the vocab. This class doesn't require a lot of work, you just need to pay attention during lectures. Will definitely be taking more of his classes.

Oh what a fun class. You probably won't learn too much from this class really but he keeps it fun and interesting. Only 4 quizzes and one gets dropped. A midterm and a final and a few readings. Do the readings and look at the slides before the test and it's a cakewalk. Attendance is mandatory though.

Dr. Soren is amazing. Lana the Dog usually attends class with you. Show up or you won't pass, read the textbook or you won't pass. There is five quizzes and one of them gets dropped, also a midterm and a final. Great class, just put some effort into it and you will pass

Dr. Soren is the absolute best professor at the UofA. His jokes, although incredibly cheesy, are great. He really is a wonderful professor that truly cares about his students and always makes time for them even while he is running to his millionth meeting with his dog. You won't regret taking his classes.

Dr. Soren is a cute old man who is very passionate about the material, and he brings his dog to every class!! Quizzes are kind of ridiculous because theres 100 terms to study from for only a two question quiz. Otherwise, the midterm and final are easy A's as long as you study. Don't really have to go to class but randomly takes attendance.

He gives excellent feedback. There is not a question he would not answer and there is nothing he would not do to help you succeed in any of his classes. All you have to do is ask for help. I was a science major but I took him for 3 classes to cover my upper division elective and I would do it all over again. He is the best professor I ever had.
