He's an awesome teacher and I'm sorry he is retiring. He helped me love French again. He has great skills in his methods of teaching. He taught us the small stuff too like accent marks in writing and how to differentiate sounds and pronunciations. Great guy!

Comment:

Dr. Steegar is absolutely the best professor at Campbell. His passion for the French language and culture of Francophone countries is contagious, and his talent for teaching is without doubt. He is funny, very smart, and he will be sorely missed at Campbell after his retirement. He has made my "Campbell Experience" a great one!

He can be intimidating at first, but he is one of the sweetest professors. Especially if he really likes you, he'll go out of his way to help if you ask. He's very sarcastic, so don't take too much to heart. His tests can be difficult even if you studied, but he's not an overly harsh grader and keeps in mind what you haven't learned yet. Very fair.

Dr. Steegar is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had. He's incredibly understanding and helpful outside of class but during class he can be somewhat intimidating and abrasive. He made learning French interesting and somewhat easy.

I will always carry a fondness in my heart for Dr. Steegar. I took 6 classes with him and learned more in those classes than in the entirety of all my other education. He is a moral man and a fair professor in every meaning of the word. He forces his students to strive to their potential and work their tushes off to get there. Do take his class.

This guy will teach you French more efficiently than anybody I've ever seen. Pretty classy, too. Likes to prod students with sarcastic insults, but I never saw him get mad or seriously lose patience no matter how badly you suck at pronunciation. If you're good with languages you probably won't have to do much since he never checks homework.

I love dr. steegar! He is really nice and funny and will help you with anything. His french is hard to understand somtimes but he helps out. His class is for people who know their french well before they get into college otherwise you'll be lost. He never checks homework but he can tell when you havent done it.

He was a good teacher, funny, and helpful. I found it easy since I took french in high school, however for those just starting he isn't too clear. I liked him enought to take him twice. He is really slack on homework! All in all a good teacher, I'd reccomend him.
