Very animated and lively. Keeps your attention and even though he is not a doctor, he has a lot of experience in his field. He is funny and entertaining. He really really knows what he is talking about and is great at teaching it. Only downfall was that he spoke very quickly, I would recommend typing notes in this class.

This was one of my favorite classes! Prof Grace made the class interesting and entertaining, however it is not an easy A. You must take extensive notes in his class and read a lot. Def would recommend!!

2 tests (40%), 2 papers (40%), 10 pop quizzes (20%). Grace is a morning person. 4 question quizzes consist of 3 hilarious pointless questions, one about an obscure current event you probably havent heard about. I really enjoyed the class until we started talking about IMF, World Bank etc., as his views lean toward Free Market, made me cringe a bit

Very passionate about this class. He will make you laugh in class, and he shares a lot of personal experiences that relate to the material that you're studying. He made our second paper optional. Make sure you pay attention in class, and take notes on the textbook (which is homework). Pop quizzes ?/4 points every class. Lots of reading.

Professor Grace is wonderful, and his class is my favorite one so far! His lectures are great, he goes super in depth and is very personable. However, the class comes with a lot of homework so be prepared. Each week has a chapter from the textbook assigned plus two or three outside source readings. 10 pop quizzes per semester, 2 exams, and 2 papers

I took PLSC 140 with Grace as well and had a great time but Failed States with him was the best decision I've ever made. I'm getting an average grade in it and I'm super proud of it because I've worked for it while simultaneously learning so much. If you ever get the chance to take it, do it. You won't regret it!

The best lectures and everything you need for studying purposes will be covered during class. Two easy tests (if you study), two papers, and random reading quizzes will be the basis for your grade, so I wouldn't skip class because you never know whether he'll give a quiz or not. Grace wants you to do well, so put in the work when necessary!

Very knowledgeable about the field of international politics. His lectures are entertaining, even with dry material. He gave pop quizzes, but most of them were jokes just to give us easy points. Uses only online readings so no textbook. Perhaps he's tougher on his upper level classes, but this class was pretty easy. Take him for 140 if you can.

Wouldn't have wanted to take international politics with any other professor! Lectures are kind of fast and he sometimes loses his initial thought, but will clarify if you ask. Don't let pop quizzes scare you, you'll grow to love them. Just go to class. Really humorous and engaging, everyone I know really enjoyed his class.

Great lecturer, but very one dimensional. You will have a hard time keeping up and taking notes, as he talks fast and doesn't keep it simple. He is knowledgeable and very demanding. Has too many additional readings that are never available until the day of class or the night before. Do not expect him to do anything but talk. Rely on the book.

Grace is my favorite professor in the department! He is very helpful and explains things in a way that makes them click. He is very intelligent but not condescending in the slightest. Very approachable. makes class exciting even when you've been in school all day (night class). He expects a lot though and is a tough grader. Strongly recommend him!

My favorite professor in the entire college. He is a really brilliant person and an asset to the school. He has worked abroad in so many countries which makes this class so worthwhile. There is a lot of reading but all you need to know is the main points in them. Take home final and awesome Model UN sessions. I recommend this to IR/PLSC or anybody

140 should ONLY be taken with Grace. He excels at teaching international systemic theories quite different from is own in an unbiased informative manner that helps students classify their own political ideologies. He makes class fun and interesting, and forces you to learn how to take good notes QUICKLY. What a great Professor....

At first glance, he is a great lecturer, keeping the class captivated. However, he talks fast, to the point that if you stop to either jot something down, or merely think about something he's said, you are lost. He also goes off on complete tangents. It is impossible to keep complete notes. Make sure you buddy up for notes, or you will fail.
