Professor Walters was wonderful. He makes class interesting and encourages discussions. He is always willing to help if you have a question for him. The amount of work you choose to put into assignments will be reflected in your grade so hard work = and A. I highly recommend taking a course with him, you will definitely learn a lot.

Walters is terrible. Horrendously unclear, rude, and not helpful. I was a B student in AP English in high school, and I failed this 100 level writing class. Never, ever take this man. You will seriously regret it and may need to retake this class.

While he's very informative and you learn a great deal, he puts a lot of personal perspective into his lessons to the point where the lesson is clouded. Not to mention, as the semester goes on he becomes increasingly angry. Try to get on his good side in the beginning of the semester

just had him for eng 101. His style of teaching is different, to say the least. But if you work hard, you will get good grades and learn a lot. I like him enough to be taking him for eng 102. Beware the class becomes easier as the semester continues.

The man is way to opinionated and he lets you know that in his grading. He has you peer edit your papers and even if the class thinks your paper is perfect, guarentee he will find something. Got straight C's. Avoid.

I'm not a fan of him at all. Everything the previous two people said is spot on. He never follows the syllabus and he's the harshest grader I've ever had. Don't take him if you can avoid it.

I am a writing major and a straight A student. I was getting Cs in his class. He does not follow the syllabus, gives unclear assignments two days before they're due, doesn't check his email, and docks huge amounts of points for subjective things like 'style' and 'word choice.' Worst professor I've ever had in any discipline.

I had Dr. Walters for poetry. It was a great class and I had a lot of fun. Be prepared to crank out 40 poems within the course of the semester, to workshop your poems, to read them in front of the class. Revisions count as a poem, but make sure to have 25 individual poems to turn in at the end of the semester. Above all: HAVE FUN! :-)

Great professor. High expectations. A bulk of the work is classwork, so you can't skip. If a true excuse, e-mail him before class. Whoever said he's never at his office hours is blatantly lying, he's always there when I go. Some I know who did poorly were texting or on Facebook in class. Grow up, do the work, participate and you'll get @ least a B.

This professor graded unfairly, and will not let you make up missed class work! I missed class with a legitimate excuse, and he did not let me make up work. He is an okay professor, just not very fair, and changes his mind about assignments, which makes getting a good grade very hard.

Good teacher and nice guy but his class if very 'busy work' intesive for a low level class. Class atmoshpere is relaxed and great discussion forum. Students should have good english and grammar background to be sucessful. Very understanding of work intensive deadline issues but this is not to be taken advantage of. Great for English majors.

Nice funny guy who likes to think he's Cecilian. Very easy going, but don't get on his bad side. Just do exactly what he tells you and you'll get a good grade. However, he explains things kinda vaguely, and will ocassionaly dock points for weird reasons. He likes to tell random stories, but they're kinda funny. Make sure to say good morning to him!

Do not take this professor! He'll say one thing one day, then change it the next day; when confronted about it he says he never said the first. I should have brought a recorder to class! He is condescending and always refers to the class as 'you people,' His grading is unfair and good luck trying to talk during office hours! DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Prof. Walters is awesome. I had him Spring 2008 and I have to say I would totally recommend him to anyone. A bit heavy on assignments, but all the WRT 200 classes are.
