This class was very organized. He expects students to give 100% and attend class and complete all assignments. He is very responsive if you have questions. he is fair with grading.

Never got a syllabus for this class, even after asking for it multiple times. Not a good professor to take if you aren't good at science or need extra help. Little help is provided. Extremely difficult quizzes and exams.

Class will seem extremely easy but tests will be extremely tough! Spent about half the semester on Meiosis, therefore running out of time towards the end (he crammed DNA in). Tests are all short answer except the third test was mult choice. Slow to grade ANYTHING and won't get many assignments returned.

Shepherds only Genetics prof. Spends the entire semester on meiosis, a super simple concept, and then manages to make the tests crazy hard. Completely unfair grader. I once asked him to explain my test grade for me and he went over it again and gave me 11 points back. Why he didn't do that in the first place, idk. Decent guy, horrible prof.

Terrible. If I could retake my sophomore year I would avoid his class. I could barely understand the test questions. Test questions sometimes didn't actually a correct answer. Never handed anything back.

Professor wing is a very poor teacher. You will never be sure if what's expected of you, and he honestly goes about things as if he could care less how you do in the class. Average grades on all exams were around 60, and he will not curve. I'd recommend to just not take this class at shepherd. Needs to learn people and organization skills

The book was very expensive but completely useless--he posts lectures on sakai that you should definitely read instead of wasting your time reading the book. The assignments on sakai are very easy. Just go to class, listen to his boring lectures, read the lectures, and do the assignments on sakai and you should do fine.

Dr. Wing is a very tough grader on test and lab reports. He has a lot of assignments on Sakai to help. He does not email you back if you have a question. Lecture were boring. Use the book and read the lectures he post. They are more helpful.

Do every sakai HW assignment, even if you know your answer is wrong. He responds with the correct answer and uses similar questions on the exams. Pedigrees and markers were tough to understand. Keep up in lab and take advantage of downtime to ask lots of questions. Warning: not enough time to complete exams, even if youre prepared!

Most likely if your taking this class your a biology major and the details and material learned in this class is general easy concepts, difficult info is pedigree analysis and DNA markers and that info I heavily relied on YouTube to teach me. it made more sense then the way he taught it. He honestly is an awful professor you have to teach yourself

Awful teacher. If you ask him a question he just stares at you for a couple of minutes and them comments on the question. Never gives an answer. His exams are so unclear and long with not enough time to finish. His class was really making me consider switching from a bio major just so his class wouldn't be required. He is very unclear and boring.

Does not know how to teach the material clearly. If you can, take genetics at a different college. When asked for help, answer lacks in clarity. Does not make the material interesting and often gets confused.

I took him for Bio 101 and 102. It was online and we had lab day once a week. 102 was way easier in my opinion. He's pretty picky when it comes to grading lab reports.. And you have to study hard for the tests. For for love of God, do all of your online assignments.. That's where I went wrong. But if you put in the effort, you can get an A

If you are a student that likes to know your grades, do not take Wing. He is your typical absent-minded science geek, and does not hand back papers. His test do not line up with labs, and are a little trick. Labs are super easy. Find a different teacher, if not MAKE SURE he counts you present EVERYDAY! Physically look if you have to.

Everyone who keeps saying that Dr. Wing's tests are too hard and that the expectations for his classes are too much to handle are either taking a different professor or not willing to put in the work. NEWSFLASH: his test questions are almost word for word from the book, and if you do the work you'll be fine.

I took Dr. Wing's online class. I think that it was more confusing than what the regular class would have been. He's pretty disorganized and is slow to give graded work back. Very unclear about when Labs are due. Exams were moderately hard, but did cover info. that could easily be found in his online lectures, which should be studied closely.

I had Dr. Wing for 101 and 102. He is a very good professor. His tests are a little tricky but if you attend the lectures and take good notes they are easy. There are a lot of lab reports but they are really easy. I recommend him!

GOD AWFUL. Too smart for his own good. he has no idea how to talk to real people who don't understand everything about biology. he should NOT be a 100 level teacher maybe a 300 or 400 level. Tests are ridiculous and nothing he says is in the book, miss class get an F. go to class still get an F...AVOID HIM!
