Great teacher and class was not difficult as long as you skim the book and take detailed notes on his lectures. Extra credit and one question note card assignments literally boosted me a whole letter grade!

A very great, very liberal man. Tests are difficult, you definitely need to read and study. His lectures are enjoyable, especially if you're a democrat. Offers A LOT of extra credit, take every extra credit opportunity there is.

Plenty of extra credit, tons of readings. overall he is hella helpful, and makes it interesting. this is college suck it up!!! Easyfun class with a steady work load, and i have been away for 13 years! I am far from smart. you will gain knowledge

i absolutely loved this class! lots of reading but its helpful for tests and class discussions. i never thought of politics as being an interesting subject, but the way he incorporates his passion for politics and philosophy is a bone chilling combination i continue to see life the way he has taught me.

Reading is a must to pass this class. 75% of the exam material is from the book, and 25% is from lecturedocumentaries. There is also a debate, which he grades easy on. The class itself is hard, but Prof Zimny is a great instructor who will help you if you are struggling. There is also a good amount of extracredit opportunities through the semester

HW is very important because quizzes are based mostly on thereadings. mostlyvocabulary. I read the first 4 chapters assigned got an A on the quiz,its ALOT of reading. better way-go section by section coping down thevocab. terms and bottom lines for morone study that as your notes. for gerston just take notes on what you think is imp. you'llgetan A

Best poli sci teacher ever! he is very passionate, knowledgeable and is a very good teacher in his field. Although he is a right wing liberal he respects and NEVER chastises other political views in or out of the class. If you show up on time daily, do HW properly and study well his tests are a breeze. Oh and he is a fair grader as well.

Zimney is the bomb! At first I thought I was failing with bad test scores but found out later I passed with a B. Show up to every class because there could be extra credit.DO well on your debate, and debate paper and final and the class should be a breeze!

Zimny is very passionate about poli sci and very knowledgeable. Make sure you take notes in his lecture!!! There are 4 midterms, a debate, an essay, and final in-class essay. This sounds like a lot, but he offers extra credit and he drops the lowest midterm grade. He is very helpful and understanding. Just make sure you pay attention. Great teacher

I know people who failed all his quizzes and still get a B average in class. He does allow late work. Also, if you fail all his quizzes make sure to pass your debate project and writing assignment with an A or B try not to a C. He is an awesome teacher who make politics really easy to understand.

Zimny really knows his stuff! The guy went to University of Chicago as his undergrad and Yale to get his graduate degree. The guy is SMART, and also really liberal- which he'll mention all semester. The quizzes weren't really a walk in the park, but as long as you know the vocab you'll be okay. Do well on the debate,&you should do well in the class

Zimny is a cool guy. Very laid back. Study the vocab for tests and do not "briefly" explain the defintions on the test. Full length definitions with examples. He will dock you. So much extra credit so getting an A is pretty easy. Some classes he takes attendance. Towards the end he gets kinda cranky though. Overall he's a pretty cool dude.

Zimny will keep you intrested & awake in class! He is passionate about politics and will try his best to explain something you don't understand. His quizzes are difficult; though, he drops the lowest one. There's a debate & one essay included which was a lot of fun. Study key terms of every chapter & you'll ace this course!
