2 sets of homework online and written (2 to 3 hours each) + lab assignment. Homework is due between classes. Written homework is group involved & if you get below 80 you get no points. Do not take this class if you work full time and taking another class unless you know chem well. You will have no time to do the homework and study for his tests.

This class was great! Don't get me wrong - it was difficult and time-consuming, but I left understanding the material. Professor Cummings comes early and stays late every class to answer questions. He grades tough, but let's you know what he wants to see. There are lots of bonus point opportunities. His lectures are fun and aim for understanding.

I took this class with him twice, the first time I got a C- and the second time I got an A. The first time i barely showed up, but the second time I attended all classes. If you go to class and take good notes and actually do the homework both online and written you will get A. He is helpful and gives many chances to succeed if you work for it.

As tough as Chemistry is, I really enjoyed this class. Professor Cummings teaches in a way that you will not only pass the class, but you will actually remember the material for later courses. He does not give you answers, you really need to work hard for your grade! There is a lot of extra credit opportunities and he is ALWAYS there to help! )

I strongly suggest NOT taking this course with him if you are not into chemistry. If you are a genius in chemistry, I recommend taking him. This class was a NIGHTMARE. I am taking it for the second time with a different teacher and it is SOOOOOO much different/easier. Do not take him. Deborah Bertenshaw is a great professor for chemistry!

Worst Instructor...but very intelligent. Just doesn't know how to teach. Skims material. Too much work and you feel scatterbrained. I wish he would focus on the topics and have more time in lecture. Its not enough time. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE NEW TO CHEMISTRY. His tests are almost impossible to pass.

SO bad!! He is a very smart guy but does not explain things well at all! He just skims right through everything and moves WAY too quickly. I would ONLY take him if you are verrrryyyy good with chemistry. Bad, bad, bad.

Doesn't answer questions. Tells you to ask your peers! Im not paying my peers I am paying him. He is a nice guy and I understand his logic to get us to think on our own. But its too much sometimes I need him to help. And he teaches it like an advanced chemistry. I wouldn't recommend him to anybody.

Prof Cummings is one of the best teacher I ever had, if you are looking to skim through the material, he is not your kind of guy.he teaches the material and allows you to explorer the Concepts to come to a deeper understanding on your own.no spoonfeeding in this class. You have to work hard but it stays with you long after the last test

He is such a great teacher. You can tell he loves the subject and he actually cares about teaching. He spends he free time helping out during his office hours and outside of class. MAKE SURE TO BUY THE TEXT BOOK BEFORE the class starts. THE TEXTBOOK will be your best friend. Do the work and you will do great.

This course was challenging, interesting, fun. and worth it. Do exactly what the course outline requires and you will do fine. Key to success is to put in the time. It was nice to find out there is at least one professor that still cares about teaching.

This professor does not help his students. If you feel like teaching yourself chemistry, then go ahead and take his class. Otherwise, wait the another semester and take it with a professor that actually is willing to teach his students.

He is a very smart guy. He definitely doesn't hand you over answers, he makes you use concepts to arrive at answers. He makes it challenging but its COLLEGE. Regardless of what chemistry class you take, its tough. He is available for help, and he is fair in grading knowing how difficult the class is. Very fair guy and he definitely knows his stuff.

Great teacher. He cares about his students passing. He moves VERY quickly, so be prepared to work for it. Given the rate of the class he offers every opportunity to pass. You really have try and fail. Make plenty of time for extra help

Extremely nice!!! His classes are not easy, but he has a way of making chemistry interesting! He cares a lot about his students and makes many available hours for tutoring. I even emailed him a year after his course with a chemistry question, and he helped me understand it. Be prepared to work hard. But he is so great
