Nice professor. Class was sometimes tedious as students went off on unnecessary tangents. I took SPN3300 before this one and it made my life a lot easier because it was basically an easier repeat. 2 compositions and a few exams. All pretty easy.

Dr. Poey is one of the top professors in the department. She is a brilliant lady and will inspire you during her lectures. I have taken her back to back this school year, I took her grammar course in the Fall and currently taking her Latin America course. Both of these classes with her are great. She is very clear, respected, understanding, caring.

Dr. Poey really knows her stuff, and presents it in a way that's easy and accessible for students. 3 relatively easy exams plus a final paper. Just go to class, pay close attention, and take notes and you'll be fine

Very easy to understand and very helpful - in person. She doesn't answer emails very quickly (if at all). FYI - she is on sabbatical in 08/09. When she returns, I would HIGHLY suggest her! Tests vary, but usually include some short essays and some matching or fill-the-blanks. One more thing, I hate buying books, but this one really is neccessary.

She is great! very understanding and tries to make the class a fun experience, may be boring but it's not hard AT ALL! If you don't speak spanish very well she is leniant and if you do it is not difficult!

Poey is GREAT! She's a great literature professor and if you attend class you will understand everything and do good on quizzes. Class was great and very enjoyable for those who enjoy literature. You won't regret taking her class.
