Best class ever! Mr. Etler doesnt mind if youre a bit late turning in your labs,as long as you get it done. This really helped when i was tied up with homeworks or projects from other classes. Definitely recommend!

I'm sure he's a great guy and his course work is pretty easy, but he doesn't post things on time and half his resources aren't linked.

Etler is a nice guy who really cares about the subject. His classes are VERY dry because he reads right off of the PowerPoints (that he has posted online). All of the tests are take home (including the final) and he's very easy going about late work. He only took attendance the first month consistently and after that hardly anyone showed up.

Dennis is the best teacher I've had at Cabrillo. He makes getting a good grade very simple. His tests are take home so no stress, I got at least 85 on each one. His passion about the subject shows during lecture because even though he always uses slide shows he never has to stop and remember whats next

Probably one of the most brilliant minds at Cabrillo. Cannot recommend him more for Anthro. Lectures are relentless and fascinating. I don't think I've learned more interesting facts in one class ever. All tests are take home too, that's how awesome.

Great teacher. Class is not hard to pass. you really have to try hard in order to fail this class. Dont use a book except packets you read and fill out. Only 2 exams. are super easy b/c you get to use your classmates. You also have notes and the packets to help you. he teaches very well and is helpful

His lab class is way more interesting and engaging than his lecture class. Gives a short packet to read and answer questions on every week. Grade is based on those packets and 2 tests which he allows you to help each other in (in class tests). Lets you out early, gives a few extra credit points, and makes it hard to fail in general.

You really need to decide whether take-home tests are worth it if you are going to need to look up every answer since you didn't learn it in class. Thus, it is questionable whether he is the easiest. Reading the e-book and supplemental online material is not mandatory, but the answers to test questions ARE there. Class is VERY boring.

Class is pretty boring, but I blame the subject, not him...science was never my thing. Good for a science req, very easy class with take-home tests. He's a pretty nice guy, makes cheesy puns. You can tell he loves his subject.

Absolutely hated this class! He is super dam boring! I hated this class! He bored me to death! I learned nothing from him and would give 10+ pgs exams. He is pathetic as a professor. I was exited to take this class but It turned out to be my least favorite in my two years!

This teacher is one the most boring teachers I've ever had which is sad because Dennis is extremely knowledable on his major. Tests are take home and though they are take home, they are hard because they have little to do with his lectures. He sleeps through movies! lol and is not very helpful answering questions. Not a hard or helpful class!

I took his lecture class. He never takes attendance, all 3 tests are take home and the research project is a cakewalk. I went to 20% of the class, and got a B. I tallied how many times he said "uhhhh" in 20 minutes and got to 121. Yikes! He goes on tangents. He's an announced atheist who believes science over faith (duh, he's an anthro teacher)

Dr. Etler clearly knows the subject inside and out. He is very knowledgeable and can answer any question w/o hesitation. I felt that his grading was inconsistent with his guidance i.e. I was told I had an A and received a C seemingly out of nowhere.

He's a sweet guy, but the lectures are kind of boring unless you really focus, which is hard because there all power point, but he gives a lot of opportunities to do well, and he's willing to help clarify anything you don't understand.Besides dull lectures it was ok.

Nice guy, not very clear with assignments. There was no homework and all three tests were take home. For the test it really helps to attend the lectures and read the book. Grade consists of three tests and one research project-very easy- he offers a lot of extra creadit and is a very easy grader.

Loved Mr. Etler!!! He is very straight forward, and very realistic! He does NOT hate on Christians, he just brings reality to those idiotic Christians who feel like they HAVE to shout out their beliefs in the middle of class and lecture. Honestly, DON'T take Anth 1 if you are a hardcore Christian who doesn't want to hear about evolution...

As a teacher he is a joke. I like anthro and I learned nothing from his class. He has no homework or quizzes. He reads off his power points and doesn't even LOOK at the class when he is talking. Students straight up walk out of class. If you just want to fulfill your science requirement and not learn anything take this class. BOO!
