She is so picky in the type of answer that she wants in essays, you could virtually answer every part of the essay thoroughly and still get a C on the essay because you did not put what SHE WANTED! The grades students receive in this class is not indicative of a students true ability.

You have to read and participate. She's old school and many students complain about her style, but just write literally what she says in class on the midterms and papers and you're golden. She expects students to know how to write an essay; she'll help you if you don't! Take detailed notes, study, participate, and communicate with her.

Comment:

She is one of the tough teachers I've ever known. She sent a lot of homework in few days. She doesn't accept late homework. The book we read in this class is a psychology book and it doesn't fit for reading class. She required you buy a textbook, but she just used it the first two weeks. I feel very stress every time when I come to her class.

One of the worst teachers I have had. So liberal even Bernie is to her right. Cracked jokes about Republicans in class. Lectures were agonizingly slow and boring. Terrible "teacher"! If you are the least bit conservative, don't show it! Make sure you wear your tee shirt that has Fidel Castro on it and you'll get an A.

Her lectures are boring and attendance is mandatory, but she explains everything she wants on the tests if you ask her questions in class or in office hours. She gives feedback and basically refuses to fail anyone - makes them rewrite whatever assignment to boost it up to a passing C. She's not bad, really. Boring, but clear on what she expects.

Professor Bayes Is the best I've taken at CSUN, she is one of the few professors interested in seeing her students succeed. Her class is not easy but you will learn alot. There are many readings but she goes over them and gives her students a chance to revise their tests. I am definitely taking her again next semester !

She is the Best professor I've had at CSUN. A lot of reading but splits the reading between groups, she's very knowledgeable, she lets you make up assignments if you haven't passed and let's you rewrite the midterms if you've done poorly. There is no way you can fail her class unless you just don't do any of the work, show up or else you'll fail.

She is one of the worst professors I have ever had. She would specifically tell us how to answer questions and when we'd answer it that way, she disagrees with the point she originally made. Her grading is confusing and makes no sense. Tons of pointless reading and class is mandatory but pointless. Avoid this professor at all costs.

This is a very low stress level class and the expectations are made clear from the get-go. Though the class can feel really long Bayes is very knowledgeable, articulate, and respectful toward her students. She posts all of her power points online and gives thorough study guides prior to exams. Highly recommend Professor Bayes.

attendance is mandatory, fell asleep a few times in class. She has ppts that are somewhat helpful. She gives out alot of reading but assigns them specifically to people so you dont have to read them all.I liked her class, she may be somewhat slow but her lectures are helpful and she enjoys teaching and will help if you ask for it.

She assigns reading to people and then questions them about the reading in class. Just read enough to know what the paper is about or just The class was somewhat boring. Just write down everything she says. People who complained are the ones that never wanted to be in class. When I emailed I got a response within the hour. I would take her again.

The worst teacher I have ever had. She is old, and on her way out, and so she really could not give a damn. She is super disorganized and doesn't even have the decency to clean up what she has on moodle that are expired. Assignments that were turned in the first two weeks of the sem. are handed back during the last week.She doesn't actually teach..

This is my 4th year at CSUN and I can honestly say that Bayes is by far the worst professor that I've had so far. I've never had a professor be so unclear about assignments, her lectures are all over the place, she takes forever to grade assignments, and she will ignore emails so don't even bother. Don't waste your time of money!you've been warned
