Comment:

Always provides feedback on first submissions of essays. However final grading criteria was not clear and I think he does not give out many A's on papers. Has somewhat of a flat affect but at least tried to make the poetry section interesting. Does not like to be challenged and once told a student that her correct answer was a "good guess"

Professor Marks is probably the most boring professor I have ever taken. You an tell he is passionate about his studies as he rambles on about information and facts no one who isn't a history major cares about. His test are easy and he does offer help. Also, be sure to know how to write a proper thesis before taking this course.

Greatest English teacher ever! After taking this class I realized I worked hard in EC1 for no reason, quizzes are so easy all you have to do is read. As long as you do the essays and seem like you know what you are talking about, you will definitely do great. I would love to take him again!

I think Professor Marks is awesome at teaching. His quizzes are straight forward only if you read what he assigns you to. 2-3 page essays are... a nightmare for me. I don't truly understand what he wants in the essays. He checks it once and makes corrections but for the final draft, I'm ending up with a C+. Textbook is a must!

Most confusing guy ever. It's hard to figure out what he's teaching unless you look at the book and teach your self. Very monotone and has no enthusiasm to teach which made me uninterested in the class. Try to avoid him. His class is easy but if you want a fun AND easy class, he's not the guy.

Nice guy. no midterm or final. quiz's every week. read the material using spark notes each week and you should get 100's on every quiz. a total of four 2-3 page essays. overall an easy class.

I ended with a B and I believe that is because I missed one more class than his allowance...but still, I had a hard time figuring out exactly what he wanted for his essays. I've always been a good writer and I'm an English major...yet somehow kept getting B-'s on his essays. The quiz grades helped me pull that up. Just read and go see him!

Took him over the summer the guy is TALL. Just pay attention in class when we go over stories I answered a lot of questions. Then he knows you. I got B-'s on my essays and like 80's on his quizes and I ended up getting an A- for the course. Do not ask me how. But I did show up to class every day.

God, this guy was boring. He's really easy, but really really boring. Students would leave class looking like they just shot up. He reads a lot of boring crap out loud, like the Aeneid. 1 research paper, mid terms and finals r easy, and very easy quizze
