Grades too hard on papers. Too many drafts and class is all discussion, so you always have to come to class having read (Everything aka in between the lines). Nice lady but other english classes will get you a better grade for half the work.

You have to read, you have to write, you have to pay attention, and you have to pull you weight. It's not easy to get in the A-range on her papers, but she's helpful. The manditory paper-conferences help out a great deal. She'll let you know where you stand and how to improve. Sometimes, we didn't cover as much as we should've.

If you want to work hard, this is the class for you. Tough questions for short and long assignments. No mid-term but the final is really tough. Slow grader for papers. You get one quiz a week, typically 1-3 questions per quiz. Take lots of notes in class and you should do fine in the final.

Good professor, passionate about teaching, demands a lot of class participation and literary analysis, slow grader on papers, nearly impossible to get an A on writing assignments, only gives 2 question quizzes for each book. Do the reading and participate and you'll do fine.

Great teacher, she really gets everyone involved in the conversations. If you do the reading you will be good. The reading assignments seem like a lot at first! You will get use to them for the most part, and I actually enjoyed the majority of it. Definitly take this teacher, she is one of the best!

Excellent professor. Considers and explores reasoning behind statements made by students. Paying attention and participating will make you feel accomplished. A bit of a strict grader, but all in fairness. Several opportunities to improve your grade. A must-have teacher!

Very tough teacher. Her class is a discussion...she expects everyone to participate and if you don't she'll call on you. Tons of reading...if you do it, you will do well..if you don't, you won't. Also, asks "what else?" alot.

Take this class (Literature at the Turn of the Century) if you're interested in learning about all of the issues at the turn of this century (end of 1900's), such as race, and sexism, and race...then class issues, and race again (notice the trend).

A great African American Lit teacher, probably the only professor with "flava" here at this campus. Light on homework but short easy readings, just make sure you know what every single word means in the literature youre assigned
