Dr. Hobbs is super helpful as a Spanish Professor. The whole class is in Spanish, but she will help you if you get stuck. She is clear on what will be on the tests, and if you know the study guide well, you will do fine. She is always at her office hours ready to help, and she will answer your emails as best as possible.

Ms. Hobbs was a very nice and easy teacher. I definitely learned a lot of Spanish, and she would never get upset. Her tests and quizzes were fairly easy if you have a basic understanding of Spanish. I would recommend her for sure.

I had Professor Hobbs for Spanish Linguistics and she can be a little all over the place at times but she is so sweet and a really good teacher! She is always willing to specify confusing areas and if you go to class and take notes and study even a little bit, an A is totally doable.

Señora Hobbs is SUPER sweet! Her class can be a little tough even if you've had Spanish experience in the past. The tests are a bit challenging but you can make it up through homework or online work.

Easiest A ever. I agree that if you have never had Spanish before you will have to work extra hard because she moves quickly. (Tip for mini essays, just ask her to look over it and she gives you the corrections needed)

Dr. Hobbs is a really nice lady who knows Spanish. She is always down to help during her office hours. Take advantage of them. It is a beginner's class, but ALL Spanish ALL the time is not practical. Material is easy, quizzes are kinda hard, exams are TOUGH and mostly all of that is because she grades with no mercy. Take her class seriously!

Span 10203: Great teacher and class! As long as you do your homework, pay attention and study, it isn't hard to make an A. She speaks in Spanish most of the class, but it’s easy to understand her. As long as you study the concepts on the review, the tests aren't very hard either. Loved both her and the class!

I was extremely excited to learn Spanish when I signed up for this class. I do not feel like I learned all that much and did not feel encouraged to keep learning. She is extremely nice just not the best Spanish teacher. I struggled understanding what she was going to expect us to know on a test. Overall very sweet, not the best teacher.

Class 10203: Great professor! Kept the class interesting and used the book regularly in class. You really do have to work outside of class though, but it's not too bad and she makes and effort to be as helpful in class in speaking as little english as possible - but don't let that scare you! It makes it easier, and she explains when she needs to.

Her Writing in Spanish Class was super easy. We wrote small essay everyother week about what our favorite animal was, making pretend reservations at hotels, etc. She's really scatter-brained with her lectures, but if you figure out what she wants, it's a super easy class. I didn't learn that much though...

Loved her! Uses textbook during every class. Use book to study! I usually only studied the day before and day of test and made B's. Was annoyed at beginning of semester because she spoke Spanish all the time and it was a beginners course, but I realized it was actually helpful.

This professor was terrible! She hardly had any idea what day it was or even the time ever!! Dont even bother asking her how to prepare for a test.. all she says is, " I dont write the tests so, I don't know!" You will be teaching yourself Spanish which is not easy!! Avoid unless you are naturally linguistic

Overall she is a nice person, but a terrible teacher. Lectures are boring, and she expects you to understand even if you don't. Quizzes and tests are graded very hard, and there is no make-up even if you were sick. There was a lot of busy work that did not help and overall as a student I didn't grow.

SPAN 20103. Very nice & helpful. Tests are somewhat difficult, but she gives vocab & verb quizzes prior to test, which can really help your avg. Daily homework, but doesnt check them (as w/ every Span class). Exempts from final for 92+ avg. No Span class is easy, I worked hard, had an A prior to the final & got exempt.
