She was an amazing teacher. She really helped me when I needed a push to work harder. There is a lot to be gained from taking one of her classes. I respect her a lot and hope to take another class with her eventually.

Definitely a fun class to take for a foreign language major. Professor is a sweet lady though she does have the demeanor of a French woman, stern and serious. She does, however, make the class interesting and fun, incorporating some of her own personal experiences with translation, involving both French and English works. Take this class with her!!

LOVE this woman!! I have had SOOOO much trouble with foreign language classes until now. I was dreading them because they pull down my GPA. Then Dr. Duvert came along. She actually knows how to teach and understands the difficulty of learning a language at our age. Very clear and VERY helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

she is by far one of the best professors i have ever had. she is an amazing teacher, and definitely knows teaching methods. her class is fairly difficult...you MUST prepare and study. if you want to learn french, she your prof!. she's HILARIOUS and always is looking to help you as much as she can. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Duvert is an intelligent and hilarious woman. I'll admit, her accent was intimidating at first, but her incite into French culture was fascinating! Go to class and do the assigned exercises! And volunteer to read and answer questions! A bit intimidating, but highly recommended!

Very difficult teacher.Tests are very hard and she doesn't explain well what will be on them. Grading is very harsh and she can be downright rude in her comments. That said, her stories are great and her cultural insights as a French person are very valuable. If you have to take her class try to enjoy that, but be prepared to work very hard.

Good professor because she knows what she's talking about. I was frustrated with her because she made French difficult. Know before you go in that there's a lot of work involved and that you'd better have some good knowledge of French the day you walk in. Fun class though, and interesting perspective, her being French.

I had her for FR 341 & 342 because I loved her. She's one of my favorite profs. She's so funny and she likes to tell stories to get the class involved. Her class does require work, but it's worth it. I would recommend the class and the instructor. I love Mme. Duvert!

Duvert is hilarious and a great person, but I didn't really like her as a prof. She is a little bit too intense as far as she asks a question and just stares at the class waiting for an answer. I found it very hard to speak in class. Her grading has me a bit confused because I got a much higher grade than I expected (but no complaints here).

Mme.Duvert was a really fun professor and made our 9:00 am class fun. She's very funny and is always good about making sure that the students understand what is going on. Her tests are hard, but they only account for 20-25% of your grade, and she gives you the opportunity for free points.(300 lab minutes) I hope to take 213 w/her when she returns!

I was struggling in the class, and when I went to ask for help, she just told me I needed to study more. I was studying, and when I asked for actual help she told me I should just schedule the class again for next quarter, because I was not going to help. She was unhelpful, and not a very nice person. Do not take her class.

She's a really good professor - she has a good sense of humor and talks a lot about France's culture, which is interesting and fun. She'll spend as much time on an area until everyone understands, and is very receptive to questions. I'm not sure what the last reviewer was talking about; you aren't expected to speak perfect French! Great class!
