A great teacher. I took phil1100 before and had to drop it because I did not like the way my teacher taught. She gives lectures that actually do not bore you. Attendance is necessary because the lectures are very helpful when you're reading by yourself and she does a great job on keeping you engaged.

I really liked her as a teacher, she let's you talk about anything and encourages you to speak. Outgoing. We got to take open note tests for almost every test. Easy A

LOVE her! This was my first Philo class but Prof Rocha really made it enjoyable. If you don't like reading and discussion, this class is not for you. Most of the class period was discussing the reading. Also, the discussion was active. If you don't like discussion classes, this class is also not for you. Prof Rocha is clear. Would take her again!!

She was actually really great. Most professors should be like her in my opinion. She puts in grades, asks students if the need help, and she never really judged anyone's opinions. There are about 2 essays, 5 tests, and a few extra credit opportunities you can take advantage of if you show up. Make sure you read the book, the lectures are boring,

Read the textbook and show up for the tests. Easy A. Extra credit on every test (short 25 MC q's). Pulls a lot of questions from the internet. Go to the textbook's website and take and memorize the "self-quizzes". Class is kind of boring, and she calls on people and discussions are most of the class. Easiest class I've taken in a long time.

not much homework other than reading the textbook but does not give study guides for any tests. minimal extra credit and does not put assignments into blackboard efficiently. does not give notes during class and makes the class do all the teaching. Calls on students constantly and doesn't really teach you anything she just talks about the readings.

All class is is going over what you read in the textbook. No group work or interaction with classmates, very boring and unclear. She does not give study guides and barley prepares you for tests. She's nice but you can probably find a better teacher for this class

Prof. Rocha was my first philosophy prof. and I've taken 3 more since her. She sparked my love for philosophy. She is passionate about philosophy and expects her students to take the class seriously like any prof. should. She makes class interesting by asking for students opinions which leads to little debates. Small writing assignments and tests.

She is disrespectful to the students. She laughed at several people when they spoke. She is rude to you when you don't think the same way she does. She embarrassingly calls you out in front of the whole class. She is one of my least favorite teachers at COD. If you don't love philosophy don't take her. I am sure there are way better teachers.

I enjoyed this class. She definitely has her own teaching style, which I personally liked. If you put in a little time and read the material this class is easy. Some of the test questions were a little vague, but once you were aware of how she tests they weren't that difficult. If you take this course, do so with an open mind...

Tests are very hard and she calls on students at random, so be prepared for that. Overall she is a nice lady and the subject was interesting. I def. would not say that this was an easy A course. There is A LOT of out of class reading that you will have to do. We had to read 1 novel and almost every chapter from a 15 chapter text book...
