Birmingham is a very nice person and all, but this class was awful. I don't really see eye to eye with her on art; she puts a lot of stock into pieces I find bland. We spent a large portion of the class talking about an artist who went to FSC, and I feel that was the ONLY reason we talked about her. Didn't learn anything new or intesting.

You wouldn't know a good professor if she fell out of a tree and landed on your head. Doris was always well prepared and informative. She taught me how to write and most of what I know about history. She does play favorites, but participate and do your homework and you'll soon be one.

yeah shes tough...i got bagged for plagairism because she gives you so much work. i got a D+....its not that hard of a class if you do the work. she did care tho, i talked to her when i was a freshman and she was very supportive, and taught me a lesson on messing up which i still havent learned...

i regret taking this class. i took it b/c it sounded interesting. it ended up just bring down my gpa. its true that she pronouced things pretentiously. she acts like she knows everything, but shes just a stupid midwesterner with an attitude. id avoid her at all costs!

Tough class but the professor is awesome. She is such a cool laid back lady but the class isnt a cake walk. Dont take the class if you dont like group discussions. I got an A and barely read and just talked in class. Huge on Participation. Real good teacher who helps her students

This teacher sucks. She talks about the art before she gives its name and date, and then adds that later, if at all. She expects you to travel into boston in your free time and spend your money to get there, and into the MFA, and then spend four hours looking at art. NEVER TAKE HER CLASSES..EVER.

She's a very smart woman, but an incredibly tough grader. I spent 8 hours on my midterm and got a D. Who knows, maybe I deserved a D, but I think that anyone that puts that much effort into an assignment deserves at least a C.

I found this class to be quite challenging, but in a good way. Intense note taking, but she knows her stuff and is always sure to be thorough in her explanations. I learned a lot and highly recomend it if you really want to learn about 20th C Art
