Very smart guy, not a good professor. The class is spent taking notes and he expects you to remeber them in detail. Speaks with a sense of entitelment like he knows he is better than you. Honestly he is a rude disrespectful person. Only take if you like lectures and are good at studying for hours for exams.

transferred to his class because they did breakfast in the morning... that was a big mistake! hard tests and extremely strict on attendance, i lost a grade letter after missing two classes because of a bad flu.

Smart guy who knows his stuff. Actually do the reading, go to class, take notes, and you'll do fine. Yes, I did get an A in two of his courses. I wasn't a Comm major, but liked his Public Speaking course enough to take another course with him. I'm glad I did- learned a lot and had fun with it, too.

Battema is the worst teacher I ever had. His class was the first Comm class I have taken, and has left me with absolutely no desire to take another Comm class. He is rude, disrespectful and degrading. I would never recommend him to anyone. Attendance in this class shouldn't be mandatory, he puts all the notes online and in class just reads them.

Battema flipped out of our class when i had him. DONT FORGET YOUR VIDEOTAPE. Oh and your hand will be falling off after taking all those notes.But note miss a single word because he expects you to know EVERYTHING that he writes on the board. He's a very smart man but if your looking for an easy "A" class or even an easy "C" class go elsewhere.

I have taken him for 3 class, and lets just my my grade my grade point average has suffered... but in a weird way its almost worth it... you learn a lot, he is very smart If you are anal about getting A's.. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS... it will not happen, i have never heard of anyone getting an A.

I agree with the harash grader comment. He will write the whole 50minutes on the chalk board. Everyday I had 5pgs of notes [no exaggeration]. He is too in depth with his acceptance of answers on tests.

Most ridiculous grader I have ever had. I am a 3.8 student and got a B- in his class. Tests require that you recite the notes word for word. I went to ask him about an assignment, he told me that what I had looked good then gave me a C- on it. Take somebody else.
