I was excited to learn about a relevant and very important subject and came away very disappointed. If you are looking for an easy 'A' then this is the class for you, he is very laid back and easy to talk to. If you are in class to learn something then you are in the wrong place because he just rambles on but never really actually teaches anything.

Rory is a laid back and respectable professor. He is great up at the board and his lectures always have trinkets of wisdom. His tests and labs are reasonable, but it can be difficult to get help from Rory. He emphasizes finding answers on your own using other resources available to you. Ask classmates, check the book, and always use Google.

I had high hopes. I'm interested in learning linux and heard great things about the professor. Unfortunately, he was very hands off (even for an online class). The curriculum is a mess. The book is horrible. The "lectures" are few & far between and contribute little to the topic. I "learned" by googling all of my questions. I can do that for free.

If you're going to take an online course, take CSC 215 with this guy! This class was cake! Just do the homework and hand it in. He gives points for completion and approximate accuracy. He only gave 2 tests (including the final) and each were open for a week and a half to complete. And you can reference what ever you want to answer the questions.

Unbelievably helpful and has a huge knowledge of most subjects. I've taken CPT115 and 215 with him and scheduled to take 217 as well. He is very laid back, but expects you to do your work. He won't be over you making sure you're doing it, he treats you like an adult and expects you to teach yourself what he can't show you in the classroom.

Great professor for Microsoft Office. He is laid back and gives this class as much seriousness as it deserves (next to none). Just do the assigned work on time and you will do well! I enjoyed this class very much.

Really nice guy and extremely bright. Unfortunately his teaching is very unclear and he is WAY too laid back. Assignments are very unclear and too complex for a 103 class. I didn't learn a thing. Withdrew mid way through.

Awesome guy, very good professor. I think he does best teaching networking (I've heard he's not so good with programming). I requested that my adviser be changed from Wexler to him as he is 100x easier to understand and 10x nicer and more helpful. Even before he was officially my adviser he helped me out with a transfer problem I was having.

AWFUL. He DOESN'T TEACH but rambles on and never gave us any programming to do on our own, we just typed it in together. He basically told us how to do half the stuff instead of TEACHING us how. I realized after the first (take home) exam that I had learned next to nothing. This was more than halfway thu the semester. Withdrew.

Nice guy, easy to talk to. Likes to throw around buzzwords. Classes are pretty haphazard; he does some lecture and then there's some hands-on stuff that's pretty free-form. Often forgets what we've covered, so sometimes he expects us to know stuff he forgot to cover or he starts covering something again.
