Professor Weatherford is great! His lectures were very engaging and he cares a lot about his students. His tests are straightforward if you follow his study guides. He does have pop quizzes but they are not too bad and he often offers extra credit on them. He can be a tough grader on essays, but between everything it balances out. Take his class!

Such a fun class! Be willing to work for your grade! Professor Weatherford is a great man and makes his class very fun. I wasn't very interested in Spanish Literature at the begging of his class but because of his class I have a more open outlook on SpanishLit. Great man, Fun class! His tests are fine as long as you study the study guide given!

This was one of the most unorganized classes I have ever taken at BYU. The professor is all over the place and cant keep his info straight. Avoid. His Spanish is also very difficult to understand. He has a overwhelmingly strong gringo accent.

He is very passionate about Latin American Civilization, but his lectures were all over the place, the readings hardly followed with lectures, and the tests were almost impossible to study for. If you are good at memorizing lots of information, this is your class. He is also not very flexible with people with a different learning curve.

He is an awesome professor. Knows his stuff and is very passionate. He tells you exactly what is on his tests. As long as you do the readings, go to class, and study for the tests it should be fairly easy to get in the A range.

My absolute favorite professor at BYU. You have to work to get an A but he makes it possible. I have taken 4 classes from him and I have absolutely loved it. He has helped me gain a greater knowledge and passion for Latin American history, culture and literature. A MUST.

He is one of the best Spanish professors at the University because he causes you to learn little bits of everything. You come to truly understand Latin American history. His style of teaching is not for everyone, but he certainly has inspired me to continue learning about Latin American events and figures. I would take any Spanish class from him.

Dr. Weatherford is very knowledgeable in his subjects and has a strong passion to share it. His class is strong in content so take good notes and have a study group if you want to survive. The only problem I had in his class was that he doesn't post any of his PowerPoints, so be in class! He was helpful outside of class for me.

He is an amazing professor. Class is so fun! He is so passionate! The only drawback is there is SO much content for the test. The study guides are enormous and a lot of the info to fill them out you have to look for yourself. He is not helpful outside of class at all which surprised me based on his passionate character and I didn't expect that

He is very passionate about literature and makes the class enjoyable because of his energy. He knows a lot about the subject and helps students get into it. He grades really fair, and lets you know exactly what you need to study before the tests. You do have to put in the time, but it's doable and you learn a lot.

I put this class off for several semesters because I was dreading it, but with Dr. Weatherford I really enjoyed it in the end. It was one of the more difficult spanish classes I have taken, but he does an excellent job keeping it interesting. He makes his expectations very clear and if you do your part you will have no problem.

Very enthusiastic. Super clear about his expectations of the students in order to get a good grade. It is necessary to read the homework carefully because he gives several quizzes throughout the semester to test comprehension. Really helped me understand and willing to answer questions. Very fair. Knows a lot and inspired me.

Prof. Weatherford's enthusiasm for Spanish literature is contagious. There was a good mix of class activities that helped me to be involved and give input in class discussions. Class discussions were very helpful in unpacking/ complex writing. Professor Weatherford was sensitive to students' needs and went out of his way to be fair in grading.

Professor Weatherford has been one of my favorite professors at BYU. The content of the course was not something that I find interesting but his passion and attitude for spanish literature is contagious. If you read the readings carefully and attend class you will do well in this class. He is excellent and I look forward to taking him again.

Dr. Weatherford is the best. He will make you fall in love with spanish literature! (I didn't think it was possible). So enthusiastic, very clear, and not a hard grader. I want to take all of his classes. Not a demanding load at all (Three tests, some quizzes, and a few compositions)

Professor Weatherford is very passionate about literature and helps his students to be as well. He makes lectures so interesting. His tests are straightforward and he tells you what to expect on them. The papers are the only frustrating thing about his class. Make sure to start early and ask him for help! I would take another class from him.

Professor Weatherford has a passion for Latin American literature and is very knowledgeable and helpful. His tests are very doable if you read the assigned material, take good notes, and prepare well. He also requires a final research paper, cultural activities, and does pop quizzes on the readings. Most readings come from packets he has prepared.

I took this class a year ago and it was really enjoyable. Dr. Weatherford really knows his stuff and loves teaching and he's good at it. He made study guides for the tests which really helped. Some stuff in class you can't get from the readings, so don't miss class. If you study hard and keep up with the assignments you'll get a good grade.

Hated the class. Hated it. Mostly because of my own bias against Spanish literature but I needed it for my minor. As a teacher he is pretty interesting and engaging, extremely passionate about what he is doing. Tests were extremely tough
