Take this class in the summer and it is pretty doable! If you are the type that can likes wrting about what you know, then you'll do great in his class. Really nice man! One of my favorite professors at BYU. He was boring to me sometimes, but he doesn't trick you on tests. Great guy and an awesome organist!!!

Prof. Bush DEFINITELY knows what he's talking about. I looked forward to everyone one of his lectures, mainly because of his keen understanding of how the art, literature, and music of the Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary Periods relate to each other. DISCLAIMER: If you don't like to write essays, don't take Bush. All of his exams are essays.

Comment:

Mr. Bush is a very knowledgable man, and he knows it. His concieted remarks about how talented and inernationally seasoned he was were a little awkward and annoying. The material is thick, and there is a lot of it. I skipped class and crammed for the two tests (1 midterm, 1 final), and did okay. Keeping up with lectures and reading however, is key.

He's such a great teacher. He is a bit boring at some points, but the class is really easy. He gives you a study guide for the midterm and final that has all the things you need you know. He's seriously amazing though

Extremely nice, always available to talk to, very knowledgeable. Essays were difficult, and he went on a few tangents per class period, but other than that, readings were easy. Tests were essays, and he expected a lot of information but as long as you attend class and do the readings, not a problem.

Dr. Bush is extremely helpful. Although you have to go to class, every time, there isn't much busy work to do outside of class, except before his quizzes, which he tells you when they are going to be. Tests were all easy essay questions that he gives you a couple weeks before. He also told us the question that was going to be on the final!EASY!

Professor Bush is Wonderful! He sensitively helped me work out a very serious problem. He is a very personable guy, extremely intelligent and funny. I enjoyed his class even though it was 2 hours long. Despite what other people have said, I hardly studied at all and got B's and A's on the tests. His class was way easy, but I still learned a lot.

Your grade is mostly off of your notes, so it's important to show up to the class every day. His final exam isn't all that hard if you have been in class and taken notes. He has a great sense of humor.

Very knowledgable in the baroque especially. Lectures were interesting because he knew what he was actually talking about but it wasn't an easy class. He reviewed all that was needed for tests but much study time was needed for them. Grades on test were higher than expected. Listening exams were tough: 10-15 questions, 30 composers to memorize

Dr Bush is passionate about the subject, and the class was very informative and enjoyable. His tests made me study, but he graded them fairly easily, and he gives you all the necessary tools to prepare adequately for the tests. I highly recommend him.

I really really like Doctor Bush but man alive his tests were just the worst. He wanted us to write a 16 page exam in the testing center in less than 2 hours on some very hard questions. Great guy though.

Basically this class was extremely extremely hard for me. The only thing you are graded on is immensely difficult exams. He's a nice person, but if you're looking for an enjoyable class, I wouldn't recommend it.
