Awesome professor! The material is tough but it's easy enough if you read the textbook and the powerpoints she provides. There are weekly discussion posts, 4 article assignments (easy!), 13 quizzes (3-4 per exam) and 3 exams. She's big on plagiarizing, so make sure you use your own words for assignments :)

I LOVE Dr. Pearcy, she is so passionate about psych and is always willing to go over a concept again. Haven't taken Bio since HS, but she made the subject really approachable. She is SO fair with her grading, and will take off test questions if they were unclear/she didn't cover it well enough. TAKE HER!!! oh, and make sure you go to class :)

EXCELLENT TEACHER! Five exams(not cumulative), one 3 page paper, and a brief presentation. Attendance not mandatory but showing up and taking notes is a good choice. Classes are fun and very interesting. I can honestly say I never sat through a boring lecture in this class She is very helpful and caring. Highly recommended

Psychopharm isn't easy but Pearcey is a great professor. You'll always know what will be on the test and she's always willing to answer questions.

Comment:

One of the best teachers in the psych department(probably why shes the dp head)! Her powerpoints are so detailed and very easy to follow. Her tests are half multiple choice and she gives you choices to pick from for short answer. If you are having a hard time understanding she will help you understand before she continues on with new material.

I'm not sure why the previous reviewer had such a bad experience. My interaction with her as the head of the department has been very positive. She has gone out of her way to help me, review my classes needed to graduate, offer suggestions etc.

Awesome professor. She made the class fun and was very knowledgeable about the material. However, tests are rather difficult and it is almost impossible to pull out an A. She is willing to help and work with you though. Would definitely recommend this teacher if you want to learn something, even though she is hard.

Dr Pearcey is an okay prof if you have had her in a prior class. The problem is she teaches to students who have already had her, which can be difficult if you haven't and very frustrating. Do not take her if you need a lot of detail and to know exactly what you are doing. I felt lost many times in her Experimental course.

Dr. Pearcey is one of the best psychology professors at KSU. The material she teaches can be hard but she explains things very well. You have to study and practice the problems to do well in her class. She is very interested in helping students that need it. I took her for Research methods and Experimental Psych.

Easy, fun and interesting lectures. Not necessary to thoroughly read the text-- just take good notes in class and review her major points in the book and you'll be fine. The book's online resources are wonderful test study tools, especially the quizzes because she uses test bank questions on the test.
