Very good lecturer, and an awesome and super caring human being. He always tries to make sure that you not only understand Orgo, but also enjoy it. He's super helpful during lab as well. As long as you complete ALL of your homework/assignments, you'll be fine. Definitely would take again.

I'm taking this professor now for Orgo 2. I've never been the smartest student (I've gotten C's in all of my Chem courses in college). But Fenlon is the MAN. His personality, caring nature and devoted interest in the subject drive me to work hard and try to impress him. Take his class. He will make you a better student and really enjoy chemistry.

Great dude and really helpful. Probably the best Orgo professor at F&M. If you do all the (optional) homework and practice exams and PPW stuff, you basically can't fail. Orgo is hard but he makes it as easy as you can expect.

Very nice professor. Teaches well. Made orgo less hard than it really should've been. Easily one of the best professors at F&M

Great Professor. Definitely one of my favorite classes I have taken so far. Provides tons of practice problems and gives you his old exams to help study. Also very nice and approachable. Not an easy class, but it's orgo.. what do you expect. Tests are challenging, but fair.

Fenlon is a great instructor. He is very clear, and you don't realize how much you learn until you take the final (which is ACS standardized) and you're just like WOW! Not bad! His exams are tough and he expects a lot out of his students. For me though, his teaching style worked perfectly. Works in big picture ideas well with details of reactions.

Dr. Fenlon is the best professor I have ever had at F&M. He is great in lecture, always willing to answer questions in class and in office hours. It is organic chemistry though, so you do have to work very hard, but working very hard in his course pays off.

Dr. Fenlon is a great professor, his tests can be difficult but his preparation through lecture is more than sufficient and he is always willing to meet with a student outside of class. He was able to make me interested in organic chemistry when before I was not at all interested and just taking the course for a requirement.

Dr. Fenlon is one of F&M's best professors. He has an excellent style of teaching which I would describe as highly organized and systematic. He tries to apply the organic you learn to real life situations, which is a plus. He's challenging and the course is demanding, but is completely doable if you WORK HARD. Dont rip on him because you are weak.

This poem sums him up: Hubris it begins with a knot, dont tell him he's not. He'll chairs into boats and travel at five knot. Beware the backside attack he plot. Molecules are chiral, vampires are not. -dont take him. hes really arrogant. office hours are like interrogations. sometimes, it seems that he takes off point becuz he feels like it

This professor holds grudges when he is approached. His grading style is nit-picking. He says that my choice of jobs is juvenile. Edward is not a good teacher.

He is an absolutely amazing professor! Think about your learning style. Fenlon is extremely straightforward, any extra info only serves as support. He is not an easy professor, but he does want everyone to do well, so ask him for help! His lectures = his exams, so the class is very fair. Unlike many, he's actually good at teaching.

He is a great professor if you read his notes, do the problems assigned and take his help after class. I never did any of those and I regret it now. His quizes and exams are very very difficult, however, you can still get partial credits if you just attempt the hard questions. His lectures are fast, so be extremely attentive in class.

I definitely found him more helpful than some other chem teachers, meeting with him helped me a lot more on tests and he told me specific things to study for tests... i'd recommend him for CHM112

He is a very bad professor. I would avoid him at all costs. his practice tests are nowhere near his real tests which are much harder. It seems he wants to fail people purposely.

he is a very bad propfessor. DO not take him. He is just as bad as marcus thomsen. Sometimes i think they try to make it impossible for most fo the class to do somewhat decent. Avoid both of these guys if u can, take van artman instead....much better choice.

Dr. Fenlon is a great professor--he gives the clearest lectures, and will go out of his way to help you outside class. Exceptionally good lab professor too. Obviously organic is not an easy course--you'll have to put in the time. Just the same if I had to do it all over again I would still choose him for orgo.

the worst chem professor next to marcus thomsen. he cant teach organic chemistry even if his life depended on it. Not clear on his expectations when he gives his tests. His tests are way harder than the examples he tells u to do.
