You can tell Dr. Treadwell is extremely smart and knows what he is talking about. His pre-lab lectures are easy to follow and he does a good job of explaining the basic concepts of the lab. Just be sure to read the lab manual before class. Also study for the quizzes and especially for the final. Just FYI he kinda has a weird sense of humor...

Orgo 1 Lab with Treadwell was hard but he is AN AMAZING PROF. Always available outside of class SO I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE MEETING WITH HIM ON THE REG. If you go over reports with him before you turn it in, you will get an A. Quizzes every week before lab so make sure you fully understand procedure, general concepts, & safety hazards.

THE best teacher I have ever had. Orgo 2 is obviously hard but he is extremely good at explaining the content & is very smart/understanding. Homework is optional but daily problems are given & HELP SO MUCH. Weekly quizzes but the lowest 4 are dropped. Extra credit questions on every test and tests are formatted exactly like quizzes/daily problems.

Treadwell is a good professor but the class is beyond difficult. The time you spend in this class will make you forget you have any other classes. The material is presented very well but the amount of material and types of problems are what makes the class hard. Also if he doesn't have coffee when he walks in the room be ready for angry treadwell.

Dr. Treadwell is an extremely difficult lab teacher. Expectations for a 1 credit hour class are unbelievable. -Tends to get very frustrated with students if they do not understand something. I would highly recommend you register for lab with a different instructor!!

Best chem professor I've ever had. EXTREMELY caring and goes above and beyond to help you. He'll make jokes at your expense, give them right back. Seriously funny guy. Course expectations are very clear, he tells you exactly what he wants for reports, etc. He also offers a lot of extra credit throughout the year. Wish he taught every chem class!

Dr. Treadwell has unreal expectations, leaving you spending more time on his class than the rest of your classes combined. Unreal amount of material posted on D2L to ever look at and actually understand unless you are Rainman. Nice guy, he cares, just thinks everyone wants to be organic chemists when we just want a decent grade.

15 quizzes (almost 1 every week) 5 lowest get dropped. 4 exams - way too long to take in 50 minutes. Lot's of optional practice homework for no credit. Did not enjoy it. Dr. Treadwell is a great person, but his style of teaching did not work for me. And you'll do just as much work in a 1 credit hr lab as in a 3 credit hr lecture. Frustrating.

Dr. Treadwell is an extremely difficult lab teacher. He expects perfection on lab reports, and the amount of time you will spend writing them and doing the homework is obscene for a 1 credit lab. He is volatile, and blew up on multiple students when they asked simple questions about the homework. Overall I would not take him for lab again.

Dr. Treadwell was an excellent teacher. He knows the criteria very well and relays the information very clearly. The tests are a little long, but he gives participation points. If you try, it's hard to fail. The labs in 2435 are interesting and fun to do. I would definitely recommend anyone to take Dr. Treadwell.

Dr. Treadwell is one of the strangest individuals I've ever met. What do I mean by this?? He will crack the dumbest jokes, but you find yourself laughing. He will also spend HOURS outside of class helping you learn the material. Highly recommend him as a teacher due to his dedication and teaching style. He is the best chem professor I've ever had.

In my opinion, he looks like a hobbit and he is always very enthusiastic. He explains things very well and although he has the type of humor to make fun of you first, he is always helpful the second time around when you ask a question. He's a really good teacher and helps you to get a good grade and make sure you understand what you're doing in lab

Had him for his first time teaching ChemI. I was terrible at Chem in high school, and was worried about taking it again. He is such a great teacher. Really tries to help you do the best you can. He gives out so many helpful tools to help you pass. Always waiting to answer your questions too. If I had to take more chem classes, I would def. get him!

He is a great professor that makes lectures very enjoyable. If you don't do well in this class, its either because you didn't try or you're just stupid. He offers study guides, practice problems, and weekly review sessions. Not to mention hes in his office till literally at least 9PM every night. However, hes very very picky about lab reports.
