I was trying to get some coursework approved for study abroad and he was the least helpful person on the planet. After sending him all the information he still had no clue. It is clear the most basic cognitive functions are beyond his grasp.

The class itself is very hard. You should start his modules as soon as possible because they are long. He is very understanding but he is tough, however, there is a "method to his madness". He is a really good professor who cares about his students. I would highly recommend him.

You'll quickly realize that the most frustrating part of this course is the online modules. It will take you hours to complete one or two of them, and there are about 50 for the whole semester. The memos aren't bad as long as you listen to his recommendations. Be prepared for him to call on you.

He is by far the most confusing instructor I've ever had and even after completing his policy class I still have no idea what he expects from his students. He always asks in the beginning of class "are there any questions," but will embarrass and belittle you if you dare to ask one. He also leaves you to fend for yourself- no structure! AVOID HIM!

Pretty hefty workload. Theres a ton of reading and critical analysis writing as follow up. If you dont like writing this isnt the class for you. Based off of how he grades the assignments, its clear that he expects in depth responses, and it isnt just enough to briefly write something and expect an A.

Don't sign up for the Wall Street Journal! It is not used at all in his class! I spend all my time doing his online McGraw Hill reviews. Haven't even read a chapter in his book yet so I don't recommend purchasing that. So just go online and buy the online connect for McGraw Hill. Do his Memo's and other work and you should pass.

I regret not taking Dr. Desmarais earlier on. YES his course was tough but hands down the BEST Professor I have had at SSU! I learned so much in his course and I loved his teaching style! I recommend this course for student who want to learn and improve, for those wanting an easy “A”, do yourself a favor and don't waste your or Dr. Desmarais's time

Dr. D is the best professor in the whole Bertolon School of Business. Yes, his reputation follows him. Yes, his BUS 470 class is hard and he does have high expectations from his students. We are college seniors not high school graduates after all. Take him if you are interested in LEARNING. Now, if you are looking for an easy A he is not your guy.

You definitely can't slack in this class because he'll call on you and expect you to know and won't stop asking you until you give him the answer he wants, no matter how long it takes. He isn't very clear so it's hard to get a good grade on his memos and he bases most of your grade on the final project and presentation, so you need to do well there

This is a hard class overall. It is a capstone course that brings everything together that you have learned in the business program. This professor was very fair. I enjoyed his teaching style. The class is very interactive and he makes you participate. If you do the work and pay attention, you'll do well.

Great Professor. This was one of my favorite business courses at salem state. I would not reccommend this professor for students who are lazy and just looking to get by. If you want to actually make it in business and improve you're analytical skills this is a very helpful course.

I took this professor for my BUS 470 and received an undeserved C He expects you to know as much as he does, which is impossible. Guy is an intelligent person? it stops there, he should not be teaching. His goal is to make u feel like an awful person, thereby making the world a darker place in order to make him-self seem brighter. As a current SSC grad student I have pondered the notion of paying $870 to take his class, and plead with the students to drop it and boycott him!

I am a senior and always work hard for my grades, but with this instructor it does not matter. He bases his grade on how he feels about the person and DEFINITELY plays favorites. There is no doubt he is knowledgeable but he will make you feel worthless.
