He's THE definition of philosophical and sometimes hard to understand. Material was very hard for me to catch on to. Keep up with the reading 100% and put 100% into the exercises. Material builds up off of the basic material so try not to miss any classes. Ask questions if you're lost otherwise you'll probably stay lost.

Heres an example of a fallacy of the appeal to numbers... 16 OUT OF 30 PEOPLE FAILED OUR FIRST EXAM!! do not take this class. ItS reasoning & politics, but apparently we'll never learn about politics. Its the most confusing material and he isnt clear on anything really. His tests are obviously impossible. Having a high work ethic gets you NOWHERE!!

No, what's ridiculous is a college student not being able to spell "ridiculous". As for Ed taking more interest in his students, he was always more than willing to have students meet in his office for extra help, something I took advantage of many times.

The top commenter is rediculous. I understand defending a professor but no need to be degrading toward fellow students. With that said, Ed James is a nice man who knows his material well. However, he needs to speak clearly, come to classes on time for a change & also he could be a bit more interested in his students as well as the material.

Ed James is without a doubt the best philosophy prof I ever had. He's absolutely brilliant, not to mention HOT.I think most of you who rate the phil profs poorly do so simply because you a) arent' intellectually equipped to think for yourselves and b) just want an easy grade w/o having to work for it. Hint: grow up! It's college, not kindergarten.

This is the worst class i have ever taken. I spend most of the time writting notes about how much i hate it (i must have like 100). The class is so confusing and he doesn't help at all.
