Comment:
Dr Katz' online classes were overwhelming at times, and I took some of her comments offensively, but I met with her in person and she was very sincere and helpful. I found her expectations to be much more clear when I met her in person than from her online instructions. Grade is mainly based on writing ability, revisions are allowed.

Direction to assignments are unclear. Tough grader and can be down-right rude in her comments. There are no exemplars to reference or models, which can be difficult in an online class. I would never take her again!

Unclear on grading assignments. Skipped out on the class for a week with no notification. Rarely answers emails. Allows revisions but doesn't give any real feedback until after the final grade. Gets mad when you ask questions. Uses "LOL" a lot. Changes the due dates constantly so you never know when to pass things in. AIP! Avoid If Possible!

Dr. Katz is one of the most attentive professors that I have ever had. She is there for all of her students and wants you to succeed. She has a great understanding of the subject and plenty of experience to compliment her lectures (online). I recommend everyone to take Dr. Katz. You will not be disappointed.

I'm taking 2 classes with Prof Katz - and in both they are pretty easy but confusing to figure out what is due when. Not sure if Moodle is to blame, but it's confusing to figure out what she wants from you.

To be honest, I use this site all the time before picking professors and I went against the reviews and picked Dr. Katz for this online class! I cannot say enough good things about it…she was great! Fast responses and very very helpful with all the work we did. Would highly recommend if you're interested in actually learning something!

Very negative person. Very mean to her students. If you make a mistake in this class, she puts you on her bad list and discriminates against you.

Class was completely online. No directions or guidelines were given on assignments. She would often forget to post discussion boards and get mad that nobody did them. If you ask her any questions via email, she becomes very nasty. If you don't ask questions and are confused, she'll rip your work apart. You can't win

Jeri Katz Runs many online classes, or should I say that she makes them self-sustained with very little effort or involvement in the course on her own part. She does not respond to discussion boards and many of her links are dead. It's been two months into the semester and I still haven't received any graded assignments yet. She is a lazy teacher.

This Professional Practices class is 100% online and completly disorganized. When you click on a link it brings you to a section of reading that also has more links that brings you to more readings and etc .Everything is redundent. There is 100 pages of textbook reading a week with and additional 7 hours of online articles to read.it doesnt end.

Comment:
Dr. Katz is so rude and condescending when a student of hers asks for clarification on an assignment. (ironic that she teaches in the SPED dept!) Her syllabus and online course for Professional Practices is a jumbled mess. She does not seem able to take responsibility for any of her oversights or lack of clarity....I'm very disappointed.

Teaches well to graduate level. High expectations. Pushes you to do better than you think you can. Let's everyone participates in discussion board. This was a 100% online course.

Online course with discussion board. She was unclear with her expectations, would change everytime someone asked a question. Rude with her replys. Lost control of her "Ask" section. Also did not provide a FBA format, so I one from the school district I work in, she didn't that one. Never used the book, was useless for this class couldn't even use

She is awesome! She actually CARES about her students. You have to complete a 20 hour practica but if you take it seriously it will change your life. She comes off a little rude in e-mails if you're unclear about her sometimes scrambled syllabus but she is so kind and nice in class. She really just wants to change your life, and she does!

This is a hybrid course but it is also speaking intensive. There are 3 Topic presentations, 1 movie review, a Podcast, and a final. You have a 20 hour service learning project - which you have to write about on the discussion board and base your final on. But she is great and cares about her students. TAKE HER! The course will change you for the better.

EXTREMELY EASY.. but she is very rude when you ask any questions about her unclear assignments. I guess it doesn't matter that they are unclear though since she is SUCH an easy grader. I don't think we actually learned one thing in the class. It is tiring ****ting a semester's worth of papers though.
