This guy knows his stuff. He's a bit odd and takes a while to warm up to the class, but once he does he is awesome. Highly recommend to the phil majors out there.

Mean and doesn't seem interested in what students say. Not a bad grader but not real helpful either. Avoid!

Hurry up and take him while you still can! The man is about to leave Loyola and will give everyone A's before he goes Not very interactive lectures, but the assignments are few. Use this class period to do other work. He can be snarky, and somewhat hard on you if you're particularly opinionated. He won't hesitate to challenge you in front of class.

Dr. Kleist is not the kind of guy that will be real chummy with his students. He can often be a little stand-offish and difficult. That being said, he is a smart guy and a fine teacher. One of the best in the department. If you are a serious philosophy student, you should definitely take a class with him. If you're not, he might intimidate you

I really loved this guy. If you're smart, you'll catch offhanded humor from this teacher. If you do the reading, you'll be able to work it on the tests and papers. At the end of the semester we had a chance to take either and oral or written final. I took the oral and recommend it. It might sound intimidating, but it's much easier to "philosophize" with this guy then to drool over your exam paper.

I was skeptical at first, but after a few classes he warms up to you.He is very intelligent and tried to make the class as easy as possible because he understood that the material was hard. We had quizzes every so often but they were ten yes or no questions and he gave us ten extra points every quiz

I really liked this guy. Sure, he makes you do work, and expects you to read. Welcome to what college should be like. I thought his expectations were clear and fair. He also cut us a lot of slack and allowed us to do a take home exam.

Kleist takes getting used too, but he turned out to be one of my favorite professors. He might not be a "student's professor" like David "I'm Cute and I Know It" Lilly, but he is good at what he does.

I enjoied his courses. It's lots of fun to play devils advocate with him, although I think it really gets on his nerves. But no one else in the class would talk. Don't blame this professor, blame your classmates. You want a good course, you need to talk.
