Comment:

Professor McCarron generally cares about his students. His lectures are a little boring (had him for an 8:30 class) but he is a very sweet guy. Very helpful if you go to office hours! Final is a paper and have three papers during the class than are about 3 pages each. Lot of readings but he goes over them in class.

Comment:

Professor McCarron is such a nice guy. He was very accommodating with the extended time I had for exams. He'll be there when you need him and he's always upbeat. However, his 200-level class is lecture based, so there isn't a lot of discussion, which wasn't great. I plan to take his class on Irish immigration next year.

LOTS OF READING! Although I didn't do most of the readings... lol... I still managed to get all As and Bs on tests/papers in this class. Super approachable and kind hearted to students. Professor Mccarran's lectures are very long and detailed although he encourages class participation which keeps them from getting TOO boring.

Really nice professor and grades easily. A lot of reading, but only one test in the middle of the year. Some short essays like a page and a couple like longer essays. Final is a essay. You get to watch some videos in the class. Enjoyed every part of the class. Take him for a GEN ED.

Prof. McCarron is the best teacher I've had at Stonehill. His class consists of mainly lectures; I enjoy listening to him talk though. He is so nice and considerate of students and people respect him for that. My post may be a bit biase though, I have a bit of a crush on him.

Professor McCarron is very passionate about history. He ties everything a lot of the content into Ireland since that is his focus of study (Even though it is American Nation). The paper topics may seem unclear at first but he always clears up any confusion. Very approachable. A few papers, one large final paper and two exams. Very nice man!

Very nice guy and very easy grader. Lectured for almost entire class. Said "umm" every two seconds which was kind of annoying which I noticed it. If you don't mind long lectures and want an A take his class.

This guy is amazing - take the one week history of ireland course - I did nothing and got an A (and still particpated regularly) - he gives you an A just for completing assignments and is very helpful with the final paper. Class can get dull but he's so nice it doesnt matter...take any course with this man

I absolutely loved having him for my first History class at Stonehill. He is the first teacher I have ever had who made history intersting. His specialty is travel narative. His stories and slides from his trips to Ireland are a highlight. I liked him so much I'd marry him.

He takes a genuine interest in his students. If you're lucky enough to have him as your advisor take advantage of it and spend time talking to him about your future; he definitely cares. He is also the best question asker I've ever met. I'm teaching high school now and I don't know where I would be without his notes and the books we used in class

professor mccarron is the nicest guy you will ever meet. his grading system is very difficult, and it's hard to figure out what he expects, but still a great prof. very enthusiastic about history, even at 830 in the morning. his passion rubs off on his students, making the class very interesting.

He's a really nice guy, and he's very helpful if you go see him during his office hours. He isn't a hard grader either, and although there can be a lot of reading it isn't really neccessary to read it because he covers it in class. Not too many assignments, I reccommend taking his class!

awesome prof, probably one of the nicest people i've ever met. he'll always meet with you for extra help and he really wants you to do well. his class isn't that hard and he usually reads drafts of the few papers you have due so you'll do decent. definitely recommend him, wicked nice guy

Awesome teaher, he teaches a great class if you're one of those people who likes to talk in class, he's not a hard grader but fair. He made me love Irish history.
