Comment:
Sattler is a tough professor. He's very picky with his grading and doesn't assign much to determine your grade for the class. In total there's about 7 assignments so everything is important and needs to be well done if you want to pass the class with a high grade. He cares about the topic and can make it interesting, but simply a very tough grader.

Comment:
Sattler is not a pushover by any means and can be very intimidating. He clearly knows a great deal and is very passionate about what he teaches, but he struggles to communicate his knowledge to his students. However, he was always willing to help you with any questions you had and he truly just wants everyone to love ECON as much as he does.

Comment:
If you don't answer 100% in his words he will mark you wrong, which makes it difficult to reference the book because the answers are not exactly what he said. He only lectures on the white board with is sloppy, barely can read handwriting. Tough grader because if its not exact, you're wrong. Does grade on a huge curve and 80 is an A in his class.

Seems to be knowledgeable on the topic but doesn't project the material to his students well. Doesn't use power points or any visual other than him scribbling on the board. His handwriting is extremely hard to read and abbreviates almost everything. An 80 is an A but he grades really tough, have to have exactly what hes looking for on exams.

At first, Sattlers class seems very difficult, but once you get your first test back you will understand how to handle the material better. An A is an 82 and above and if you do the homework and make sure to go into his office hours, I think you will do just fine. He is an incredibly nice guy and is very passionate about the subject!

Didn't like him at first but after the first exam I understood what he was looking for. You don't need the book, you just need to show up to class and write down everything he says and writes. If you can't read it-ask. He tells you what will be on the exam in class. He's very intelligent and I respect him highly. Remarkable old professor.

Dr. Sattler seems to be a very knowledgeable with the subject, but has some trouble projecting that knowledge to his students. He seems like a kind person and tells some good stories. His handwriting is extremely poor and difficult to understand (poorly organized), and he is an extremely tough grader. I would not recommend.

He is not helpful and does not know which students actually attend class. He does not have clear notes, is unorganized, and you cannot read his handwriting. Sometimes he goes with the book. If you have a question, you'd be better off seeking a tutor that has taken his class. Tests are relatively difficult though half of it is the homework.

Tough grader, does not explain material at all, he abbreviates everything he writes and it is impossible to understand. He has the worst handwriting ever. Only take this class if you have taken an economic class before.

He is such a tough grader. If you don't put exactly what he thinks the answer should be he takes away all the points, there is rarely no such thing as partial credit on his homework. I went to a tutor to get help with the homework and got an F on it. He does curve his tests a lot though.

Don't get how people find this class difficult. Gives you the exact test questions a week before the test and if you take the initiative to fill them out, he will look them over and tell you if they are right or wrong. Great guy and I would recommend for Jr./Sr. econ class

Sattler is a great teacher who truly cares about how his students do in the class. He is very passionate about economics and I recommend taking his class. He does curve the class (82 is an A) but it also means you got to work hard to earn that grade. One of the best teachers I have had at Bradley University.

Fairly tough grader but he makes up for it by grading on a curve (80-100 was an A for my class) Make sure you listen in class because his notes are hard to read if you don't. He is always available to help though. Good guy, great teacher.

Nice, but awful at teaching economics. If you could read his handwriting then it might be better, but... you cant! He also abbreviates everything which makes it ten times harder. You never use the book and he rushes through things. I went in several times for help which was useless. He even wrote "huh" on a homework assignment.Take diff teacher.

Like everyone else has said, he is a hard grader and his handwriting can be hard to read. On the flip side, he is an expert in the field of economics and his passion for it shows, making the time in class quite interesting. He is also very helpful and will make sure everyone is on the same page. As a plus, he curves the homework and tests too.
