This is not an easy A class but it's not a hard class either. You work and do what you have to do and you get the grade you deserve. There were 2 papers a take home final and midterm. He's very helpful & an amazing prof u won't regret taking his class

I often find myself in disagreement with his analysis, but I can't help but like the guy. You can tell he genuinely loves what he's teaching, and he's just a nice guy. Course material is generally easy, and out of class assignments are sparse. Would recommend.

I have taken Prof. Burrows for 2 classes and if you have even the faintest interest in the revolutionary era, TAKE HIS CLASSES!!! You will learn so much, have a lot of fun doing so and become a better historian and writer. If I could reccomend 1 history professor at Brooklyn, he would be the one!

An absolute gem. Funny, down-to-earth, and intellectually engaging. The reading list is well-chosen and not overbearing. His classes are loosely structured but always effective. There were 3 papers (5-7 pgs) and a short writing based final. If you go to BC, take a class with him or miss out on one of the best academic experiences BC has to offer.

He's a good teacher, but don't take him for a core class. His quizzes are mostly from material in the book, which he does NOT teach, so u have to read on ur own to pass them. The reports were ok tho, and he does give extra credit. Unless u like history, take someone else.

Prof. Burrows is a fantastic pedagogue. He made class fun and interesting. (And I usually detest history.) He taught via lectures and PowerPoint presentations. He assigned three essays that were actually fun to write. (He was also very lenient with tardiness in handing in these papers.) And? Final exam was take-home. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

One of my favorite professors. this man is everything a professor should be. funny, interesting, knowledgeable, lenient, and overall helpful. you will learn alot about the subject that hes teaching. 3 essays and a take home final. all fairly graded. requires some work but overall rewarding. this man is the best.

I loved Professor Burrows. He knows a lot about the subject, and doesn't fail to stir interest. There was a lot of reading, but the papers weren't terribly difficult. I'm taking him again in the fall, which is sure to be enjoyable and informative.

Great Lectures! Interesting writing assignments, but not so interesting reading assignments...however you need them to complete the blogs, make sure you complete the blogs..you'll be kicking yourself in the end if you don't! Heard he's harder in his upper division classes
